Apparently, the Board ratified the Committee's recommendation to appoint Ratten.

So that was the hold-up. Crossing the procedural T's. Now we can get on with it.

The only other coach I would entertain would be Sam Mitchell

Or they had well over a dozen interviews, sometimes multiple ones with the same person. They were very very thorough. Now only time will tell.

Would love to know who else interviewed.
I heard Harvey did, but no other names.
Any other names Tony?

Hopefully now that Ratts has the job he will have some input on which players get traded as it’s become like a fire sale lately with no regard to the ramifications.

well not happy at all. we played safe and continue on the same path.
but he's our coach and gotta wish him all the best in the job and hope he proves us doubters wrong.
no doubt there will be a lot of very frustrated and angry saints fans if he doesn't. he won't be given the same length of grace richo received. this is a team five years in the making, and unrealistic expectation or not, it is time for it to contend.

I remember a lot of positivity around both the AR and SW appointments.

Reasonably happy with this. Players seem to like him and he appears to have a harder edge, is more tactical and commands a different sort of respect than the nice bloke RIcho. I do wonder how much appetite he has still to go as a senior coach, even if he lasts 3 years I think we will be in a much better position as a club after his stint. Was probably the coach we needed 2-3 years ago. Hopefully he has fire in the belly to prove my concern over his appetite wrong.

Players like him because he’s not a nice bloke?

This was happening from the day Ratten was appointed as an assistant.
