Re: Doggies offer 3/4 year deal for Bruce
I believe that Hodge he could potentially help both Membrey and Bruce to perform at peak. Bruce recovered from injury and played a decent season. I don't think we have a ready made replacement, however, there are several young guns that could step up.
But should we wait?
If Bruce has an average year in 2020 will he have any trade value?

What would Dogs give both for Bruce and Carlisle?
Having said that, the Dogs with Carlisle and Bruce both inserted into it would be a pretty awesome team in 2020.

Well its between a 3 to 4 year deal so deal must be 3.25 years.
Well spotted.

They have Schache and Norton and are smart enough to realise Bruce will do the grunt work and allow them to get off the chain.
We have an undersized Membrey a broken down McCartin and a kid who is 202cm 90kg ringing wet
Smart by the dogs

What do they have to offer in return?
Pick in the mid teens maybe. Do they have a suitable player we might want whom they’ll trade? What would be a good value deal for Josh? I hope he stays, but we have to give to get.

Re: Doggies offer 3 to 4 year deal for Bruce
Why give up an important structural player in his prime to a rival club for a speculative pick.
You know what you’ve got with Bruce...a competitor and a target in f50 or down the line.
He is a workhorse Forward that every team needs

A 50 goal a year forward? Dogs first pick or tell your story walking, surely?
I hope this goes nowhere to be honest.

Wonder if the coach, senior management and recruiting staff are all on the same page about this potential trade?

If Bruce is traded, then I think it's fair to say Mr Lethlean is utterly bonkers and has no respect for our football club or those who represent it. Bruce is one of my first picked every week, too

Re: Doggies offer 3 to 4 year deal for Bruce
I can understand the dogs wanting Bruce but we would be mad to trade him .
King is 19 and not a frame yet able to play centre half forward even forgetting that he hasn’t yet played his first game.
If the dogs really want him we would want Bont, Naughton and their first round pick.

Re: Doggies offer 3 to 4 year deal for Bruce
If we are planning a forward set up which replaces Bruce with Marshall or Ryder... we are an absolute basket case
I won’t be disgusted about the Bruce trade because he is such a great player... I will be disgusted because it will show the decision makers at the club have NFI
We need Bruce, not because he’s such a gun forward... we need him to be a bullock and take the heat off King

Depends if we're thinking long term with two Kings in the forward line.
The Dogs' offer means we'll need to overpay Bruce to retain him. And end up with a cluttered forward line.

Re: Doggies offer 3 to 4 year deal for Bruce
wont need him if King starts playing and Battle moves forward where he belongs. Dont get me wrong he was good up back but we got him because he can kick straight at goal. But what can the doggies give us in return. They are going to have low round draft picks depending on the next few weeks. Maybe we can get their first round draft pick next year to help get Ben King

We can’t just bank on Ben King moving to StK
First, he has to want to come to us, then we have to satisfy GC with a trade.
His manager has stated... he will be on the GC in 2020

You make it sound like we could just throw Brown up there.B.M wrote: ↑Wed 04 Sep 2019 7:58pm If we are planning a forward set up which replaces Bruce with Marshall or Ryder... we are an absolute basket case

Why is dumb by us....
they have put forward an offer....
Some may consider dumb to match......
He is really only a hardworking GOP.....
not that special
If their offer is too good to match so be it and he requests the trade...........................
you have an agenda most times which is negative to the Club anyway...club appear to do no good in your eyes most times.

Re: Doggies offer 3 to 4 year deal for Bruce
Bruce will kick 60-70 goals with the delivery he’ll get from the Doggies mids.
Early 2nd round pick is probably the best we can hope for IMHO, anything less I’d say no deal.

Re: Doggies offer 3 to 4 year deal for Bruce
Here's an idea. Let's get some mids who.can kick to a forward who can lead. Oh Hill.and King come to mind. Bruce can only take heat off on the balls that are kicked to him and maybe kick 30-50 goals while he is at it. Marshall could probably do the same. Who knows Marshall may be even able to 2nd ruck too.
