Why on earth would the pies want Lonie (no sleight on him ) but they already have Elliott Thomas daicos etc etc
Did you actually think about what the other clubs needs are before writing

Pies have got DeGoey, Stephenson, Elliot and Josh Thomas as smalls. Lonie would be surplus to needs.
Nee!

Nice try SMS, BUT, it won't happen.
Ben King will be at the Suns next year.
Collingwood won't give up pick 14 for our GOP's.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: HOW we get HILL & KING - Recruitment READ THIS THREAD
Most likely we will trade our first rounder for TWO first rounders.
Will most likely be one of the clubs involved in the Geelong trade to get whathisname back west.
From there we will trade one of those off to Freo for Hill and we keep another. That is a massive win for us.
Stuv will go for at best a second rounder, which is just unacceptable IMO, but we will bend over once more.
After that point, I reckon we might see a handful of others shopped, with one or two going for third rounders etc etc. Contracted or not, players are going to be traded and moved.
King might actually be taken for a future pick. Depends on how GC handle the exit. We will probably play ball on this one, but it is most definitely worth it for a first round player that already has a year in the system. It fits us better anyway.
Beyond Steven, I honestly dont give a stuff who we get rid of. Most of them have had enough time to show what they have with us. Chances are, most will go elsewhere and do OK. The previous coach seemed to just allow some of these guys to become list plodders. When a fire is lit under a few, they will probably go OK.

Lonie, Carlisle, Sinclair, Newnes
These 4 would have some value
get rid of em before they worth nothing.
Re Bruce. I think we may need to keep him anyway for leadership. His work and goal kicking actually
elite. While Kings get upto 21 hea the man

Lonie! Should be one of the first half dozen picked every week. A couple of ordinary games and people want him out!
Newnes, I agree on, but we're going to have to sacrifice a bit more. Ross and/or Acres will have currency.

Hi SMS, my name is James Gallagher, and I am the list manager at St Kilda Football Club.
I have been wondering how I could get Hill and King into the club,
and your OP seems to be the answer.
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.
Would you like to get a job at the club, we need people like you.
Just give us your banking details and bank password, and we'll deposit your first paycheque tomorrow.
Regards, J Gallagher

I would also lock away Hind, call me deluded but I see another Stephen Milne

Of you trades is the most likely, but doubt the Pies would want Lonie.
I reckon Freo will want more than Pick 14.
Newnes is a RFA.. If he nominates GC we will not match and they get him for free
King for 5 will not happen.
King and Hill will cost us more than 5, Lonie and Bruce.
With out Bruce Max King is going to cop a battering, and Max also will not be doing all the hard pack busting that Bruce does.

Milne had all the party tricks size and was superb in traffic around goals AND was actually a good mark and lead for his size.
Whereas Hind is quick and at his best in space where he can run. If he works at his game he could be a useful player for us. But Milne was a freak of the game.

He’s probably played half a dozen good games in 3 years and you reckon he should be one of the first picked.

Re: HOW we get HILL & KING - Recruitment READ THIS THREAD
Hind is nothing like Milne imo, Gresham is more like Milne.
Milne was actually not that fast in a straight line, as Hind is, but Milney had an explosive first step and tremendous lateral movement and evasive skills (like Gresh) and phenomenal goal sense. Hind hasn’t got that, in fact Hind hasn’t even played Forward until mid this season.

Both Hills? I like your thinking. Most of this I agree with in terms of what we get in and who goes out.CQ SAINT wrote: ↑Sun 25 Aug 2019 11:59pm 5 to GWS for 10 and 14

Bytel of course if the offer was good.
Gresham would be one of the first I'd trade. He can't kick.
Membrey I'd prefer to keep - but if it took trading him to get a Coniglio, Martin, Neale or Kelly type then I'd trade him in a heartbeat.

Lonie was flying prior to his leg break (and I was one of his biggest knickers) reckon he deserves more time
Jake C won’t be going anywhere
Compo for Newnes should someone offer a contract (unlikely) would be late second at best
I reckon King is a real chance

I love these delusional threads. Every year we are going to get a b & C and every year we get no-one good. We got dan han last and that was it for named players of note and he is injury probe and passed his prime
Why do posters spend all year slagging off players then think other teams want them? IE newnes.
Bottom line is I expect Steven to go to cats and that's about it. Hill may come over but I am not holding out to much hope. Not yet

In terms of getting KING - we should look at selling a Gold Coast lifestyle to SEB ROSS - need to put some something decent on the table rather than wasting first round draft picks.
You can sell ROSS to GC - stand in captain, leadership, mature, hard ball gets, etc - he fills their needs. Needless to say I don't rate him that highly.
