Marshall is going to be a very good player and ruckman. We have to remember he has barely played senior footy and it shows at times. I reckon there is a spot for both Longer and Marshall in the side. Marshall will only get better.

Spot on. We need to go back to 3 talls meaning Marshall can play forward and have stints in the ruck. Parker and acres as pseudo talls didnt work today.
Personally, I thought we should have played parker in the middle and told him to make Walters life difficult. I dont know how many times Roma palmed the ball beautifully down to a Freo player. But he is a terrific prospect given the number of games he has played

I still think that for the time being Marshall should start as a forward and alternate in the ruck with one of Pierce / Longer.

He’s the only guy on the list that can play both positions and with Paddy down we’re short a key forward.

Certainly this idea is a step up from a Bruce / Acres playing relief ruck.

It’s hard to tell what Marshall’s ideal position is at this stage. He’s raw but mobile, hard at it & talented.

Agree that he could have been a useful forward option in that last Q when we were bombing it 20 metres from goal and we couldn’t pluck that pack mark.

The trouble with playing 2 rucks is that we will lose our forward defensive pressure which has been awesome. We cannot do it.

Battle could go forward (in place of Kent) without diminishing our forward pressure. I'd do that and bring Joyce in to play back.
