From the AFL website:

I can't seem to embed the video but some great goals from Milney.

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Statistically the best small forward ever.
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

Re: Fantastic Five - Stephen Milne
I had the privilege of attending one of the best H&A game of 2005. When St Kilda beat Collinwood by 100 odd points and was the Saints largest winning margin against the pies.
Milne was a freak show and kicked his most memorable shot for goal for me.
On the wing there was a stoppage, the ball fell down, some how the pies player thought they got the ball and ran forward. Milne just sat under the contest, picked it up and ran the opposite way and we all couldn't stop marvelling. He got to within 30m open space, barely any pies defenders, and then kicked a point. It was so frustrating but amazingly funny at the same time. Lenny broke some pies players shoulders and Kosi was jumping to take marks...just a very good night

Re: Fantastic Five - Stephen Milne
His goals were freakishly spectacular but he was so much more than just the goals. He was supremely skilled. His ball handling skills on the ground were reminiscent of the Doc for those old enough on here to remember and his field kicking was also pinpoint accurate. The year Roo went out early with a bad hammy and Milney played FF for the rest of the season was also a measure of his greatness. He could certainly teach our current so-called forward line a thing or two.

He was an extremely talented footballer.
"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....

Milne is to me the greatest small forward of the afl era. never given his proper due by opposition fans. That bounce of the ball stole his and our greatest moment. Pity he wasn't an avid church goer.

I just wish he could have kicked for 5/6 in a Grand Final to get us that flag and then I think he would have been right up there at the very top level for goalkickers

One of the hardest players to stop in his generation in the whole comp.
Goal sense and crumbing ability as good as has ever been.
