Is Richo’s fate in the hands of Riewoldt?
Riewoldt could be holding the guillotine cord with Richo’s head beneath the blade.
- New President supposedly wants Roo on the board.
- Roo implied a few times this year he was frustrated with the way StKilda was playing.
- Sounded quite non-plussed at the gameplan.
- Roo also might carry some personal animosity towards Richo who ultimately forced him to retire.
- Hence the much talked about lack of on-field leadership must grate with Roo.
- Roo is well known for taking losses badly and would not be happy with Richo not berating the players after insipid efforts
- Roo has a hard competitive edge so after 5 years without significant progress he would feel it is time for a change.
So if Roo does join the board does that mean Richo’s fate is sealed?

So are you assuming Riewoldt won't be on the board?
Or do you think Richo will survive even if he is on the board and offering his unique football insights which would be very damaging to Richo?

As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: Is Richo’s fate in the hands of Riewoldt?
At the end of the day, 5 years is a long time to be given to an indivdual for the organisaion to be back at square one, regardless of the industry.
I’m also pretty sick of Richo’s buzzword coaching phrases that come straight after losing by 8 goals every week. Safe to say I’m not feeling that positive and I’m certainly not pleased with the current situation.
But he’ll probably coach next season. Hope he turns it around.

I have applied some mathematics to the statements being made by club officials as reported in the media to be able to make a 100% factually correct claim.

Statements made by club officials have made it crystal clear that Richo will be coach in 2019.Enrico_Misso wrote: ↑Mon 03 Sep 2018 10:50pmSo are you assuming Riewoldt won't be on the board?

Decisions and actions made by the club have made it even clearer Richo will be coach in 2019, for example hiring two new high profile and well credentialed assistants.
Think about that last point for a minute, sacking the head coach after installing 2 new assistants would eclipse any scandal or display of incompetence ever encountered at the club and would have the AFL stepping in.
Richo is coach for 2019.

Re: Is Richo’s fate in the hands of Riewoldt?
Yeah that is absolute twaddle. Riewoldt resigned. He was not pushed. He had nothing left. The end.Beno88 wrote: ↑Tue 04 Sep 2018 9:10amThat is just plain false.Enrico_Misso wrote: ↑Mon 03 Sep 2018 9:43pm

Not the first time someone on here has insinuated something similar. Absolute rubbish.
"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....

Re: Is Richo’s fate in the hands of Riewoldt?
Reading between the lines, what will happen is this: Richo survives to coach at start of 2019.
If we’re off to a stinker like 2018, his position becomes untenable and we already have Ratts in place to take over.

Re: Is Richo’s fate in the hands of Riewoldt?
Flawed logic.
Applying mathematical statements and logic to anything to do with St Kilda FC is dangerous. For example; senior coach, 5 years to do something, 33% win record = 2 yr extension at St Kilda........doesn't work.
Besides, I'm still reading he's not safe - 2 are protecting him hard and 1 of them is going with the other to fall on his sword if Alan does.
If the above is true - these 2 Muppets are holding our club to ransom and another 12 months of waste to cover their corporate asses and ought to hang their heads.

Re: Is Richo’s fate in the hands of Riewoldt?
Maths never lies. The new prez says a change of coach is highly unlikely. Lethlean says he aint going anywhere. They've recruited 2 new assistants for him. Richo is the coach for 2019Teflon wrote: ↑Tue 04 Sep 2018 2:53pmFlawed logic.
