Put a line through them...
It’s not a surprising list but I think I’m about done with the following players...
Armitage - disposal too average
Weller - Not effective enough.
He may not have the skills, but Koby Stevens is equally as tough as them both, faster, can tag and gets more ball. Should play ahead of them both.
Savage - he’s simply not good enough. Too unaccountable as a defender, not damaging with the ball as a play maker.
Gilbert - certainly deserves to play the year out, brings more effort than most but he’s finished. Perhaps if there’s a big clean out he survives for one more year as depth but that’s best case scenario.
Lonie, Wright, Pierce... all finished. Clearly not up to it.
Goddard, DMac, Minchington all hanging on by the skin of their teeth and would really want to show something by end of the year baring in mind that we can’t every straggler on the list all at once.
Rice... really want to see him and White play a whole lot more from now on.
Connellan and Joyce... don’t really know who they are even after all this time.
Rookies not withstanding, that’s about 5-7 players minimum IMO we should be looking to turnover if we draft 3 in, nab a free agent of two and somehow conjure a trade.

Re: Put a line through them...
Yeah agreed.
I don't think we can afford to get rid of Minchington, D'mac or Goddard. Rice with that group too.
I really rate D'mac. I just reckon he will be a player. Needs another chance.
Lonie, Wright, Pierce... all finished. Clearly not up to it.
Yep.
Connellan and Joyce... One of them at least goes Ok.
We have big turnover coming. And added to the players listed, there will be bigger tickets moved also.

FFS, we have one pick in the top 60 to 65 in this years draft and some of you want to delist 10 or 11 players.

Minch needs an injury free run.
And lets see how Pierce goes this year.

Re: Put a line through them...
With the exception of Carlisle, no one’s form warrants being off-limits.
The rebuild has flopped and barring our first pick, we have very limited access to this year’s draft.
While we have plenty of prospect players who currently make good depth players, if there was interest from rival clubs and we stood to gain a good pick, it would have to be considered.
A star FA or two won’t be the difference. We would need at least 4 or 5.

Sorry to say it but I just don't get the DMac love - I'm sure he's a great guy but I'm not sure he's ever had an above average game for the saints. - he probably has for the Zebs - but I would be amazed if he is on the list next year - just hasn't been able to build up his body to be able to mix it up in the AFL I don't think

Pretty much every time dmac has come in its the same garbage “no awareness...poor skills”, regardless of what he does at vfl level we’ll get the same slop dishes out...no thanks.saint6709 wrote:saynta wrote:Agree with you on D mac.bigred wrote:Yeah agreed.

Much rather Rice or white they’re the future...bubbles is one of the best kicks at the club for starters and tough as old socks.

Re: Put a line through them...
I agree we need to field a team so we cant get rid of everyone. Gilbo definitely gone at year end and unless a big turn around occurs so will Armo who turns 30 this year. Koby and Paddy may concussed out as well.saynta wrote:FFS, we have one pick in the top 60 to 65 in this years draft and some of you want to delist 10 or 11 players.
Lots can happen in the next few months but a few lucky players will get an extra year due to necessity
