Unfortunately yes, and I thought he put in a pretty good speech tonight, the man knows his stuff.
If the AFL wants it, then I’m happy enough. We should have gone for Malthouse really though

No. I really couldn't go through another five years of defensive, negative football. I just couldn't. I'd rather stick with what we have now, to be honest.

I disagree. To say that the Dees have a lot more to be excited about then us is already an understatement.fugazi wrote:Roos is overrated.

finished
so is GT, Rodney Eade, Barry Cable and any other hack we roll out in times of despair
we need to really do some homework on who has the goods from assistant ranks - dare i say it.....find another Lyon ruthless but at least has a footy brain and not a corporate spin 'pleasing' rubbish brain.
Leigh Tudor has runs on the board wherever he goes....id look at him.

Agreed. The best out forward line has looked in the last decade was when Tudor was coach.Teflon wrote:no

They haven't done anything yet. On paper they have a good list, but if they don't make top 4 this year I'd say they are underperforming. And if they don't make finals the year will be a disaster for them.SydneySainter wrote:I disagree. If they do a 2016 Bulldogs or 2017 Richmond, or 2005 Swans I'll buy in, but until then they're still the same as us and I'd rather keep the guy we've got. For now.
Plenty of teams can be May premiers, I'd like to see how the coaches we have dig our way out of this form slump.

Re: Is Paul Roos what we need .
The best recruiters is what we need.
The Demons struggled under Roos - but with the team they now have slowly assembled, they will do well under any coach.
It's all about recruiting - we need to pick the right players - and for this you need the best recruiters.
Forget the coaches - they are irrelevant and easily replaceable - but you only get one chance to recruit the right players, at every stage.

Re: Is Paul Roos what we need .
I wonder whether you can spend too long as an assistant coach? And get too old and stop growing.
Would we have picked Bevo or Stuart Dew we went with someone like Chris Fagan (Bris) for stability
This time last year Hardwick was a hack
To me picking a coach is like draft pick no 1
I wont mention Watters & Watson

Re: Is Paul Roos what we need .
Fair point. But we also have a good list (not as good as Melbourne's IMO), good enough that we shouldn't be getting consistently flogged and we've been stuck in a form slump since Round 17, 2017.samuraisaint wrote:They haven't done anything yet.
