Re: Fox sports phantom draft
That would have to be the first phantom draft I've seen that has Cerra going lower than 4 or 5. Would be a great result for us.
Opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one.

Absolutely stoked if we landed those two. One classy ball user, and the biggest unknown of the draft with huge upside

I doubt we will get Cerra but you are right he looks good. Bonar has a few injuries already. I would prefer to get someone else who is uninjured

Really rate Cerra... am struggling with the idea that he’s there past 5.

Re: Fox sports phantom draft
I want Dow now. Starting to get hopes up he’ll be there.
Loons get brayshaw, North get stepho and freo get Cerra we have a serious chance of getting Dow
We get Dow then myaswell get “2020 saint premiers” tattooed on arm the next day.
Dow and Clark/Bonar/Fogarty
Dream that could happen

Qe Cerra, Cerra?
"Is this the right room for an argument?"
"I told you once."
"No, you didn't."
"Yes, I did."
"Listen, an argument isn't just the automatic gainsaying of anything the other person says, it's a series of statements designed to support a particular conclusion."
"No, it isn't."
"Oh, I've had enough of this."
"No you haven't"
"Oh shut up."

I'd be delighted if Cerra slipped through, that would be cause for enthusiasm. Looks like a very good & classy midfielder in the Kelly mould.

Re: Fox sports phantom draft
Would be wrapped if Cerra is available of our pick. All relies on Collingwood and/or free taking a big and Brayshaw going early.
Listening to Brayshaw would be happy with him also

Re: Fox sports phantom draft
Apparently Jaidyn Stephenson has health issues concerning his heart.
Cleared by cardiac specialists to play AFL but some clubs have gone cold on selecting him.
Is St Kilda one of those clubs I wonder?
If the medical specialists who know him give the all clear surely that is good enough?
This kid has X factor IMO. Great to grab him if he slides to us.
The Kangas are pretty keen or were and they are before us in the draft.

He’s another one I’m not entirely sold on though the thread on here bashing him has pbly contributed to that...damienc wrote:Apparently Jaidyn Stephenson has health issues concerning his heart.

from BF
7. Jaidyn Stephenson (VIC)
Best position: Outside midfield/general forward
Height, weight: 189cm, 76kg
Recruited from: Eastern Ranges
Projected draft range: Top 10
Similar to: Isaac Smith
September Ranking: 15
Rationale: Has demonstrated the capability to play wing, forward or midfield. Strong finish to the season and big performances in the biggest games, including best on ground honours in Under-18 All Star game sees stocks rise.
Strengths:
High leaper
Aerial marking threat
Clean at ground level
Takes on the game with his run and is a genuine line breaker
Acceleration
Agility
Tackling pressure
Provides second and third efforts
Strong tackler
Reading of ruck taps
Composed with ball in hand
Vision
Improving contested ball winner
Versatility to play wing, forward or on the ball for patches as needed
Big game player
Weaknesses:
Hands overhead inconsistent
Strength
Inconsistent kick to target
Consistency from game to game
Overall, knightmare has him going to Freo at 5.
I feel somewhat uncomfortable with kids that can’t win much ball as juniors, then having to come in and compete with bigger bodies. Feel like you have to be a REALLY good outside player to make it and he doesn’t sound that good to me. Prefer Jack to be honest
I reckon he’s there at our pick though

Re: Fox sports phantom draft
9. Hunter Clark (VIC)
Best position: Inside midfielder/outside midfielder
Height, weight: 186cm, 79kg
Recruited from: Dandenong Stingrays
Projected draft range: First round
Similar to: Steele Sidebottom
September Ranking: 17
Rationale: Consistency in the back end of the season, production and improving impact see Clark's stocks rise. One of the rare few midfielders who can play inside or outside and also possesses clean skills on both sides and football smarts.
Strengths:
First possession winner at stoppages
Contested ball winner
Clean at ground level
Clean hands in close
Tackling
Runs in support
Work rate
Endurance
Outside run and carry
Agility
Evasiveness
Football smarts
Precise, duel sided kick with time and space
Just as comfortable as an inside or outside midfielder
Capability to play midfield, back or forward
Capable crumber off packs and inside 50m
Weaknesses:
Decision making under pressure
Hurt factor with ball in hand
Best position: Inside midfielder/outside midfielder

Re: Fox sports phantom draft
Hmmm... he sounds good Con but then you get to weaknesses
1. Decision making under pressure... negates good disposal, we already have an abundance of throws it onto the boot to a three on one
2. Hurt factor with the ball in hand... again points to his disposal not being what it’s cracked up to be.
Think I’d prefer Higgins

Dont forget that Dangerfield went at pick 10 and Rance pick 18.... So
You cant judge them on what they are now - u need to look a ahead with a bit of foresight...
Higgins is a dwarf. Cant see him becoming a star at AFL level I am afraid. We already have Gresham.

What about that archilles jones fella from Manangatang. May not have any fancy vids on youtube but i hear he can kick a wheat bag 10 yards. Good, simple country stock. Reckon he's worth a punt.

Both have had injuries.DJ Higgins wrote:I doubt we will get Cerra but you are right he looks good. Bonar has a few injuries already. I would prefer to get someone else who is uninjured
Champion data on Cerra
7. ADAM CERRA (Eastern Ranges)
186cm midfielder
Injuries in past two years the question mark. A ball winner who can go forward, ranking elite in disposals, contested possessions, goals and score involvements in 2017 TAC Cup.
SAM SAYS: Classy inside-outside midfielder who Eastern reckons would be the No.1 pick if not for injuries. In mix at most early selections and unlikely to get past St Kilda at No.7 or 8.

True. But a shoulder and a knee meniscus tear as opposed to ACL injuries? I haven't done a lot of research into him as I will be surprised if he is still there at 7saynta wrote:Both have had injuries.DJ Higgins wrote:I doubt we will get Cerra but you are right he looks good.
