GWS. Give them more handouts please. They need more! They are shyte!
I'd love them to go out in straight sets. Definitely a chance now.
As for tonight - the Cats should pump Richmond who will get ahead of themselves in front of 95,000
It's a shame so many visitor tickets were sold in the MCC where members may get locked out tonight. Possible big stuff up looming by the MCC selling 5,000 visitor tickets.

Re: Finals discussion thread
I'm predicting an upset for tonight. Richmond haven't beaten Geelong for a long time and it'll be Geelong to get ahead of themselves. It'll come down to the wire in the end. Tiges will have a great first half and their lead will diminish as the second half progresses. Similar to our QF win over Geelong in 2010.
Dusty vs Dangerfield will be a midfield Battle Royale.

Early days but can't see GWS dominating Grand Finals for years to come as most of us predicted.

Re: Finals discussion thread
The thing that struck me about last night's effort from GWS, was how Josh Kelly could be BOG for the Giants, yet they were still smashed. It makes me wonder how our team can go from "pretenders to contenders" simply from the addition of Josh Kelly to the list? OR can one man truly make such a difference? Interesting.

All class, no midfield more like it: the Crows destroyed them in the middle. Makes me wonder if the likes of Kelly and Whitfield are the game changers they are billed as being.freely wrote:All class, no mongrel. Interesting.

Re: Finals discussion thread
And, re Richmond. I would love them to win tonight, but it will be very tough.
And as for Martin vs Dangerfield: there's no contest IMO. Martin is good, but not great. Dangerfield IMO is one of the best half a dozen players I have ever seen: up there with Lethal, Duck, Hudson et al n And he is playing in an era of hard tagging and tight structures.

Re: Finals discussion thread
Last nights game could have been any game in any round - just didn't have that finals intensity about it.
GWS will take care of either WC or Port next week, but I just can't see them beating either the Cats or Richmond at the G in a prelim. Not how they played last night anyway...

Re: Finals discussion thread
Surely the Eagles will beat Port (who are impostors as finalists IMO). And then I would see the Eagles vs GWS as very much a 50/50 proposition.St Chris wrote:Last nights game could have been any game in any round - just didn't have that finals intensity about it.

Re: Finals discussion thread
Adelaide are a deserving Premier imo.
Loss of Dangerfield.
No high draft picks.
Phil Walsh tragedy.
They have been very impressive.

Richmond, Geelong, who is the bigger front runner with soft underbelly?

Re: Finals discussion thread
The quality of football in general is very ordinary at the moment, 2nd vs 3rd tonight and the skills are terrible resulting in 1 goal in 20 minutes, plus GWS kicking 1.5 in a half last night.

A champion team full of individual champions will always beat a champion team. Remember what Guru Bob said, "A good big man will always beat a good little man, except when that big man is Glen Coleman."mullet wrote:a champion team will always beat a team of champions
