Steve Motlop
A chance? 50/50 if he would be a good fit for Saints in 2018.
Geelong put him up for trade last year and is a restricted FA. No contract in place.

Re: Steve Motlop
Much better than Lonie, Wright, Long or Minchington as a small forward and can actually spend time in the middle. Would happily take him as a FA.

Re: Steve Motlop
I was thinking this earlier in the year. As a RFA, it's a yes from me. The only downer is his improved form. It might just land him another contract in Sleepy Hollow. At least we should be able to tempt him with our "War Chest".
I think you're pretty tough, don't I?

I'm 50/50 still. Why do some not rate him?
He does come across as a be a bit flakey and inconsistent but his good is very good.

7th in total disposal at Cats this year in a top 4 side that includes Dangerfield and Selwood. Avg of 20 per game. Also kicked 18 goals.ace wrote:Motlop is a known motflop.parkeysainter wrote:A chance? 50/50 if he would be a good fit for Saints in 2018.

He's better than some of the blokes in our best 22 and on the fringe. E.g. lonie and meatball

On his day, this guy is great! But, a wee bit flakey for mine. IF a deal could be done that wouldn't cost us the earth, Iwould consider him, but have lots of reservations.parkeysainter wrote:7th in total disposal at Cats this year in a top 4 side that includes Dangerfield and Selwood. You set the bar really low!
Probably better than Raph Clarke too, but don't reckon we need any more downhill skiers!

Re: Steve Motlop
The fact that Geelong tried to flog him off last season and no club showed any interest should tell you something. Their CEO ( Cook?) was on radio this week saying that it may be in both parties best interest in looking to trade him next season ...
He apparently has extremely poor work ethic, misses training and turns up with elephant skin folds pre season , and won't chase hard or follow coaches directions
Come to think if it he might fit right in, after all we need a new whipping boy now the negative nellies are finding out Billings can play a little!

Just recall his implosion/sulking in last years finals. I felt embarrassed for him. Hope its not even on the radar or our recruiters need to be checked for dual memberships.
Re: Steve Motlop
don't see the value in him atm. pass from me.
Tippa at the dopers is a small forward type i'd say go after but that's not going to happen
