On the contrary, to Stonecold's credit, he has been backing Billy for a while.

I'm definitely keen for Billy's return after Hickey's uninspiring comeback to AFL level last week.

Just from reading between the lines of that injury update, I'd say he's unlikely for this week.

If last week proved anything, it's that Longer should be our first choice by a country mile.

What has happened to Hickey. How can he go from career best form last season to some of worst we've seen him play in a Saints jumper this season? Bellchambers is not an elite ruck IMO but Hickey made him look like the new Dean Cox last Friday.

I believe it is a knee injury restricting his leap. He only has a leap as his weapon in centre bounces. Then a loss of confidence from being noncompetitive as a result. Would love to see him rest up and get 100% fit and come again. Still believe he has value. Disappointed with Pierce as he has the tools but he seems to be lost. We should look at Holmes until Longer (and Hickey) are fully fit.

I agree about Holmes doing in this week, has had over 110 hitouts over the last 2 weeks in the VFL I think, and in my opinion is an even better tap ruck then Billy (Billy does more blocking and bullock into in the stoppages which puts him ahead of Holmes as first ruck though. Hickey still looks underdone for me, as his ruck was as usual sub par by AFL standards, but his work around the ground is far below what we've been expecting of him.

Let Holmes play until either of them is 100% fit again, I think both of them are part of our future

Another view might be too that it gives Holmes one last chance to show that he is at least worthy as being retained as a back up ruck.

Remember Barry Brooks? The boy from King Island. We gave away picks 6 and 31 to get him from Port Adelaide. He was meant to be the last piece in GT's premiership puzzle. A ruckman with a huge leap, who could also go forward and take a big grab. A good kick, too. He showed early promise until an ACL injury stopped him in his tracks. Bevo said Barry was never the same again. He lost his ability to jump, had no confidence in his repaired knee and slowly disappeared from the scene. Another case of, "what if?"

Maybe Hickey's knee injury earlier in the year is having a similar effect on his confidence. He's clearly not right, based on what we saw last week. I hope he recovers from whatever is ailing him. We need him firing and in form.

Stone old you are so full of it ... in 2016 you wanted Longer traded , now you pretend to be some sort of. Guru ,,, I have pointed out Longers strengths since 2014 , both he and Hickey bring different things to the table, Hickeys got serious problems now we have the third man up rule, I believe I was also the first to pint this out ( though I stand to be corrected)

I pointed out the differences between the two as early as 2014.

In fact last last year you wanted Longer traded !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a) 9/10 it's not true
