Carlisle is a great player, and Savage has found his place back in the team

I think we can put Mckenzie to onesie for a while. Battle played just as I expected. A very stupid selection. Long isnot ready. Our midfield isvery shallow

Carlisle , Savage, Roberton and Steven all played well.
The boys got worked over and will learn from it.

Really wish Richo got a bit creative to bring more speed. Put Long on Fantasia or AMT instead of Geary, let the skip roam a bit.and set up our defensefugazi wrote:Carlisle , Savage, Roberton and Steven all played well.

Geary locks down just about everyone he plays on but these sound like great moves, in hindsight
Wow!

I know right! Maybe I should be coach St Kilda. I like how we can leave Geary to cover 2 different players and beats them both!SaintPav wrote:Proph3t of egan wrote:Really wish Richo got a bit creative to bring more speed. I just thought Geary was a bit wasted with those mismatches especially with their speed as my concern. Plus long could learn a thing or two

Positive..... Battle has been blooded. Did not get much of it, kicked a nice goal when more experienced players could'nt
Should get another one.
Nathan Brown. how long do we persevere with him?

What do you by perservere? Like keep playing through a slump, or delist him soon?borderbarry wrote:Positive..... Battle has been blooded. Did not get much of it, kicked a nice goal when more experienced players could'nt

Re: Positives for tonight.
Coach and match committee will finally realise they MUST get more games into our younger players. We are no where near good enough or consistent enough to challenge, even if we fall into 8th spot (personally, I don't think we'll make the 8 and have thought that we wouldn't prior to the season starting)

He has been excellent all year.
Pretty hard to defend given the way the ball was coming in.

Re: Positives for tonight.
Sinclair, Carlisle, Roberton, Savage, Steven and the Bombers bad kicking for goal were all positives for tonight.
Coaches, McKenzie, Lonie, Long and Hickey were f****** dreadful.

Defenders are under the pump when the midfield is being thrashed.SaintPav wrote:Harsh assessment on Brown.borderbarry wrote:Positive..... Battle has been blooded. Did not get much of it, kicked a nice goal when more experienced players could'nt

I think the defenders did pretty well considering that.

Re: Positives for tonight.
Some of our defenders were excellent. Nathan Brown was inconspicuously non influentual, as per his average output.longtimesaint wrote:Defenders are under the pump when the midfield is being thrashed.SaintPav wrote:Harsh assessment on Brown.borderbarry wrote:Positive..... Have another close look at Nathan's efforts when he had an opportunity to impact a contest or provide an attacking option. He was hopeless

Re: Positives for tonight.
I'm not seeing it in Long or McKenzie. You want to see some glimpses every now and then but I just don't. They also don't stand out much at VFL level from the games I've seen. Really strange decision to bring them in.
Rice and Freezer would appear to be much more deserving.
