Kelly and May
Channel 7 story that Saints have all but matched Norths bid for Kelly 8 years at a million a year.
Also big go at Stephen May.I think bringing in two players would show that we are serious about having a crack in the next two years.
How would that be Saints supporters.

3aw now suggesting we're leading the race for Kelly. Norf supporters will be panic struck. They've convinced themselves he's a Roo next year.

I think we can get a real gauge on who is gonna leave clubs or re-sign, once the pay deal comes in and players can get more money for their contracts. Reckon that's what Fyfe and Martin are waiting for, and maybe Steven May

Kelly is best mates with Billings and Sinclair. That is a significant factor when all other things such as money are equal. I look forward to seeing all three of them in our elite midfield next year.

at the Wogans...so say the media in the Giants game when Joey was shoulder-rubbing Kelly
post-game, then "Man of" came over to shake hands

Mates from school and junior footy, brother! How plssed off must North fans be that the AFL changed the FS rule from 50 to 100 games?
Kelly's dad Phil played 61 for North.

Thought Billo and Sinclair were Scotch College/Oakleigh Chargers, Kelly was Brighton Grammar/Sandy Dragons. Not much overlap there.White Winmar wrote:Mates from school and junior footy, brother! Do you have to go to school together to be mates with someone? Played in representative teams and squads, I'm led to believe.Darth Vader wrote:White Winmar wrote:Mates from school and junior footy, brother! I still cant get over the scenes at the end of game when we beat them. Joey was hugging him!!!! The whole team seemed to go to him. But Joey.... it was man love!!!!White Winmar wrote:Mates from school and junior footy, brother! Re: Kelly and May
May a good player but needs to clean up his game. Missed 8 games in 2 years to suspension (5 and 3). Not good enough if we're going to pay bucks for him.

Re: Kelly and May
I desperately want to get Josh Kelly.
But I don't want us to become some private school boy club. This is what held Melbourne back for decades.

Poor syntax on my part, DV. No dramas. It comes from my son, who was in a couple of rep sides with them. I think the main friendship is between JB and JS, but they are both friendly with Josh. Let's hope very friendly!Darth Vader wrote:No fair enough, just when you said they were mates from school I thought this meant you were saying they were mates from school.White Winmar wrote:Do you have to go to school together to be mates with someone? I reckon poor coaching, recruiting and development held Melbourne back more. Get these right and we'll find a way to cope with talented, committed, motivated private school kids with great leadership attributes.Con Gorozidis wrote:I desperately want to get Josh Kelly.

Re: Kelly and May
But imagine him and Jake Carlisle enforcing our Backline. We'd finally have some genuine tall defenders that are A-grade. Also, May is Captain at GC, so his attitude isn't that bad, he's probably just reckless and a bit emotional on the fieldshrodes wrote:May a good player but needs to clean up his game. Re: Kelly and May
Cant see us realistically chasing Stephen May, but love that we are up to ears in the hunt for Josh Kelly. If we get him and Fyfe as a Free Agent then off load a fringe player for a late 1st rounder it would be a huge win.
