6-3 and the chance to make a real tilt at finals
At the start of the season I saw our first 9 games going this way
Melbourne W
West Coast L
Brisbane W
Collingwood W
Geelong L
Hawthorn L
GWS L
Carlton W
Sydney L
It looked like we had a very tough draw, and that we would very likely be 4-5 or 5-4 after 9 rounds based on the teams form from last year.
The Carlton game we should be heavy favourites, and unless the Swans manage to turn around their game we are likely to win that game too.
That leaves us at 6-3 with a winnable game against the doggies before the bye.
For the rest of the season there's no games that I don't think we can win, although Adelaide are going to be very tough to beat over there.
Barring injuries this looks like it going to be a very good season!

Blues on track to beat pies (heh heh see ya Bucks) so lets trot out that old clicche "one game at a time". Next week is a huge danger game from overconfidence and let down.

It still bums me out that for a combination of bad kicking for goal and bad umpiring... we should essentially be 6-1 right now with the Melbourne loss our only blemish

And will the Blues fans outnumber us next Saturday??Bluthy wrote:Blues on track to beat pies (heh heh see ya Bucks) so lets trot out that old clicche "one game at a time". Next week is a huge danger game from overconfidence and let down.

Who cares. We aren't Richmond. It only matters if we outscore them.saintspremiers wrote:And will the Blues fans outnumber us next Saturday??Bluthy wrote:Blues on track to beat pies (heh heh see ya Bucks) so lets trot out that old clicche "one game at a time". Thankfully it looks like the kicking has gotten slightly better over the past couple of weeks. The West Coast game definitely hurt though!skeptic wrote:It still bums me out that for a combination of bad kicking for goal and bad umpiring... we should essentially be 6-1 right now with the Melbourne loss our only blemish

Oh c'mon, we didn't lose to Geelong because of bad goal kicking or poor umpiring…skeptic wrote:It still bums me out that for a combination of bad kicking for goal and bad umpiring... we should essentially be 6-1 right now with the Melbourne loss our only blemish
13.10 to 19.12
We were behind in nearly every meaningful stat and lost by 6+ goals.

One game at a time people. The focus should be on ensuring we don't do what we did against the Gold Coast last year against Carlton. There are no easy games this year, none whatsoever.

Yep and we could have also won 150 flags if we'd played better too.skeptic wrote:All I'm saying is we could have won that game too

Well there's at least a few forumites that thought the umpiring worked against in the Geelong match an more were unhappy at the time.dragit wrote:Yep and we could have also won 150 flags if we'd played better too.skeptic wrote:All I'm saying is we could have won that game too

Why the vindictive post, true to form, but, unnecessary.saintspremiers wrote:It's a FIXture not a draw. Hasn't been a draw for donkeys years you fool!
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Haha, there's a few forumites who would blame the umpires when we lose by 100 points...skeptic wrote:Well there's at least a few forumites that thought the umpiring worked against in the Geelong match an more were unhappy at the time.dragit wrote:Yep and we could have also won 150 flags if we'd played better too.skeptic wrote:All I'm saying is we could have won that game too

I'm not riled, but suggesting that we were robbed is just sour grapes.

1 game and percentage out of the top 2.
The comp is extremely even this year. There could be 11 teams in contention for the finals.

And I thought it was only me who enjoyed a win by thinking what if and making myself sadskeptic wrote:It still bums me out that for a combination of bad kicking for goal and bad umpiring... we should essentially be 6-1 right now with the Melbourne loss our only blemish

If we fail to turn up in either game we will lose.

Was at the G for the Pies-Carlscum match. Colondud were dreadful, Carlscum exploited their every weakness. We really need to take a very considered approach to our next home game. (IMHO)

We owe those pricks a lot for what they've done to us over the years.
Will the 8 day break be enough to refresh the team so Richo can live his dream of "No Changes"?
I reckon he really would like to reward te whole 22 for effort on Friday night. But we had about 87 tackles so it was a brutal game physically

Now that I am old and know so much more, I know that I know so much about so little, and so little about so much.
