Re: Steele requests trade
Sauce? I hope the AFL has had a quiet word to the GWS board and said "Hey dudes - you know all this heat about how many high draft picks you have had - and how you' ve got multiple high picks again this year even though you almost made the grannie, and will have high picks for the forseeable future plus you have all your acamedy kids they can't access. Well folks out there getting pretty pissed at all that. We need to mitigate some of this anger so you need to give pretty good deals for players that are basically your discards because they can't make your first 22. Don't fight too hard on these deals - get some good will - you need it or else there will be an uprising and all us fat cat AFL board are out of a job"
Third rounder sounds right to me now. He was pick 24 or something wasn't he?

Finaaaaally! Massive get and I dare say will be pretty much even with others vying for a spot as our second best midfielder. Thats no disrespect to Seb, Armo, Blake, JB etc but he will shock many.
Perfect Richo type who can play multiple positions, was told it has been done for weeks but until its official (the nomination) you always worry.

Re: Steele requests trade
According to the SEN player ratings he has never played a better game than 6/10. Generally a 5/10.
Unproven over his first two years with obviously good potential but worth at very best a low second round pick

Re: Steele requests trade
I just read where Pickett Ahern and Stewart are all expected to leave GWS as well. We should have a go for Paul Ahern, fast mid, Victorian.

Re: Steele requests trade
Jarrod Pickett (Pick 4)
Able to play as a small forward or through the midfield, Jarrod Pickett impressed GWS scouts with his running ability and smarts around goal. At 178cm and 76kg, he might have been a tad small and a touch raw to play senior footy last year but looks likely to get an opportunity in 2016. He spent most of his first year in the NEAFL playing forward, averaging 14 disposals and kicking 26 goals from 16 games.
Paul Ahern (Pick 7)
A hard-running midfielder, Paul Ahern didn’t get a crack in 2015 but looks sure to earn his chance this season. The youngster signed a one-year contract extension last May, reiterating he would be a long-term player for the club, and improved his consistency in the NEAFL. There, he averaged 23 goals across the season and also worked on his ability to push forward and impact on the scoreboard.

get those two as well aren't GWS looking for picks that they can swap into points instead of trading for players?

Unfortunately Ahern is another year away from playing as he just did his second acl in a year. Great kid, his mum barracks for the saints.st.rick wrote:Jarrod Pickett (Pick 4)

Re: Steele requests trade
Pickett is a Gresham/Lonie size. No no NO.
Can't have another midget.
Gresh is a unique player, but we can't have another.
Lonie was kept out by Gresh, so I think the coaches don't want 2 of the same on the field.

Hopefully the new Lenny Hayes. Lenny took about 3 years to get going.

Re: Steele requests trade
Let's hope if we do get Steele, we dont have to wait an extra season like we have to date with Carlilse & Freeman, to get him playing on the park for the Saints.stkfc1 wrote:Very good news. Carlise, Freeman and now Steele. We are seeing the trickle become a flood as we are a destination club.
