Anyone still doubt this kid's ability? Brilliant in traffic and used his height well for that opening mark + goal.
Memo to Richo: Armo is clearly playing injured. Send him off for surgery and let Blake play on ball for the rest of the season. Wonder how high in the Rising Star Blske might have finished with more time on ball?

Re: Acres
He looked very good tonight. One of our best players. Still a little slow to react and still a little dicey with his touches but all of that will improve the more time he spends in the thick of things. Looked good tonight, a big positive.

Re: Acres
Acres really impressive... some of his work in traffic was fantastic... and clunked a couple marks...
2nd best game after the 1st demons game of the year.. although in some ways better as today he was up against it, taking the load when Armitage and Steven were clearly below their best
Very high hopes for this kid.... still only 20 y.o. ...could explode next year

Re: Acres
kid is starting to find his feet at the top level. Can take a good overhead mark as well.
Was one of the few bright spots tonight.
Will continue to improve over the next 2 years and will be a superstar once he gets to about 80 games.

Yes, great game from 8cres.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:

Re: Acres
Still only 20. Imagine how good he will be after another 2-3 pre-seasons? He seems to have the complete package. His speed is deceptive - lopes a bit like Raph Clarke, but is effective and has awareness (unlike Rapha). His hand free hand balls in the tackle are superb. He did one tonight as he was slung to the ground that was sublime, as was the spin move on Ziebel following which he spotted up Mav. Kicking is awkward, but seemed to hit targets under pressure. God I hope he has luck with injury, he could be a star.
On that theme, imagine how good JB will be after he successfully completes a pre-season for the very first time? A couple of exciting thoughts after a frustrating night.

Blake will make a footballer. Certain of that. Gresham already is one.
Loved McKenzie's pace. Wright ain't slow either.

Re: Acres
Acres was definitely in our top two tonight, as for those who were doubting him do yourselves a favour next time you watch a game make sure you're sitting next to someone who understands it.
I also loved Billings, McKenzie and Gresham's games, they're adjusting very nicely to the AFL.

Re: Acres
Gresh looking like a player. will be interesting to see how he copes next year and if he can avoid the 2nd year blues like Lonie and Sinclair.
I hope D Mac continues to improve because that mix of raw speed and bravery is intoxicating. Ive only had a few tastes and Im already getting light headed. I can only imagine what it will be like if we get the full bottle !!

Yep, needs to back it up . A few more games like that on the run home. He was horrific after his 'break out' game against Melbourne for the next month. His second best game tonight

Re: Acres
Acres will be our best player over the next decade IMO. Has the athletic profile to go with footy smarts & can go forward as a scoring threat. He justs needs to be given more opportunities & licence & he'll explode.
