Why tease Shenton with a game late in the season when his papers look to have been stamped?

Stamped by Whiskers, I presume. Obviously selected because he is no good and been playing useless for Sandringham. Or t could be because we are a bit thin on backmen and the selectors actually know their jobs better than we do.whiskers3614 wrote:Why tease Shenton with a game late in the season when his papers look to have been stamped?

Not at all, I quite like his style.
Just seems to be prominent in de-list threads and has struggled to get games this year.

Geez, they don't want to give Coughlan a go in the seniors, do they! (I know he's a rookie but they can elevate someone for Goddard).Trev from the Bush wrote:Stamped by Whiskers, I presume. Plus 8cres named in the side.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:

I am of the opinion that shents would be more entitled to a game in the firsts based on his VFL performances that Delaney,Lee or Wright.

Interesting tactic. No backline. Hogan will be confused.

Well, most of the team went missing against WCE, Crows and Suns.kosifantutti wrote:Interesting tactic. No backline. Hogan will be confused.
The coaches are expecting some of the defenders won't show up.

Re: Squad v Demons
Just hope our team can kick more goals than him????? Cause if an under done Dempster plays on him or Gilbert, he'll get at least.10 goals!!!!!SemperFidelis wrote:Ok, I know Delaney had a shocker last week; but what do we do about Hogan????????
Strange selections, don't have a problem with the in's, just no like for like if you know what I mean!!!!!
Smallest team we've picked for a long time!!!!!

Well - must be better not to include a player who's literally gonna pass him the ball!SemperFidelis wrote:Ok, I know Delaney had a shocker last week; but what do we do about Hogan????????
Re: Squad v Demons
they are going for a more team style defense, but it does require a more competitive effort down back compared to the last 2 games. i think with the dees you really only have to lock down Garlett and Hogan. the handy thing is against the dees when the pressure is on they just bang it in long to hogan. i wouldve like to have seen either coghlan, Rice or White play that wouldve been interesting. but i do get the vibe billings may play a bit of half back along with joey and newnes.

Re: Squad v Demons
If they drop deleany, who will play on Hogan. We already know that Dempster Gilbert and Roberton can't go to him
It has to be either Lee Delaney or move Bruce to him otherwise he will kick a bag.
I already don't have a good feeling bout this game.

Re: Squad v Demons
McKenzie very fortunate to hold his place along with a couple of others.
I think we really need Delaney this week.
So glad to see Sinclair back.

Re: Squad v Demons
Well, Delaney is an emergency, and Lee is nowhere to be seen. So it looks like Baroooose. Or Robbo on a stepladder. At least he did a reasonable job on Hawkins.ROLS-LEE wrote:If they drop deleany, who will play on Hogan. We already know that Dempster Gilbert and Roberton can't go to him

I am assuming Richo has a theory that the ball will not go beyond our midfield.
Brace yourselves. I'm nervous. We need to kick a whole lotta goals.

Re: Squad v Demons
West Coast all over again. Richo Gee I didn't see that coming. Honestly some days.
At some stage he's going to have to be accountable, here's hoping he knows what he's doing. I'll be more than happy to say yeah Richo you were right. but If I hear we were out coached or under manned in defense or I didn't see that coming I'll be more than P Off
So I'm sure Richo will have a cunning plan.

Re: Squad v Demons
Totally agree. The team is significantly lacking in height. Delaney may not be a superstar but he will contest and another tall up forward would stretch the Demons defense. Will be interesting (at the least) to see what happens on Sunday.Playon wrote:West Coast all over again. Richo Gee I didn't see that coming. Honestly some days.

You do realize that Richo is only one of 5 selectors?Playon wrote:West Coast all over again. Richo Gee I didn't see that coming. Honestly some days.

Yes I do, but who puts their head on the chopping block and who do you suppose might have the most say?
