Thought he was really good today, his disposal and decision making is on a par with B. Goddard.
One thing I couldn't understand today was when he put himself in a great position to mark and instead double fisted it over the line.
Love him on the burst, but does he suffer from the "FIORAS" in contested situations?

Loved Heath Black, Im a huge wrap for the 100 m players ie can carry 30 to 40 m & kick it 60 m.

Jason Gram had more height and greater pace - he was one of the quickest players in the AFL, certainly in our side. Shane Savage is slow (think Dunstan) and not tall, which is why have him (think Hawthorn's backline). Shane is a consistently more accurate kick, although not as long, but can't kick on his non preferred (neither could Jason Gram). If oppositions let Shane Savage run past on the right hand side of teammates then they shouldn't be surprised if he has a shot from 50.

Well I wouldn't yet. Gram was nearly best on the ground in a GF. funny how some people lose their ability when they leave. 4 weeks ago I think Savage may have been dropped or there were people wanting him dropped. Gram still has him covered by a long way IMO except for his kicking.

Gram sure wasn't slow and had a couple of excellent years, certainly better than any year Savage has put together. Having said that, Sav is looking good.

Didn't say he couldn't play, I was disputing that Gram was much quicker than Savage and was a better kick.

My Hawks mate told me Sav was inconsistent- he would have an amazing game and have a quiet one a week later. I just remember him killing us one game, he must have had 30+ disposals and a bag of goals. Savage is super quick when you see him up close at games so I thought he'd be slightly faster than Gram who I loved as a player and was also very fast once he got of the first couple of long strides. I watched a Sandy game last year and Savage was so quick he just left players in his wake, it was like he was in fast forward compared to anyone else on the field. Gram was a very good player for a long time and deserves a bit more respect than he gets, he went from a favourite to a whipping boy late career.
