Re: Phillip Walsh murdered
News reported that the son has gone for a psychiatric assessment.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Re: Phillip Walsh murdered
Unbelievable news. Not just AFL but in general life outside of the bubble of football. Just shocking.
No point in speculating on the alleged cause of the incident and why it came about. The full story will come out eventually. Fact of the matter though is that it changes nothing. A man is dead allegedly by the hand of his son.
Bloody shocking.

Hey guys. Probably a time just to be thankful for what you have.
Life can change so quickly. So hug your family, cat, dog or whatever.
Life is too short . Live for today.

RIP Phil
For God's sake - everyone go home and hug your kids tonight - the family must be sacred - this is devastating
Murder is most foul - when it is committed by a loved one it is a like a double fatality to the family.

Re: Phillip Walsh murdered
RIP, very sad news.
USELESS FACT: The WADA case against Essendon (in Sydney as well) is exactly 10 years to the day that Australia qualified for the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

Re: Phillip Walsh murdered
Just terrible tragic news to hear. I had to do a double take when I put the radio on SEN this morning, I just couldn't believe it. Thoughts and feelings go out to anyone associated with Phil Walsh and to his loved ones. Just simply terrible and an utterly sad thing to have happened. Rest in Peace Phil.

Condolences.
Sadly it is already turning into a media circus with rolling coverage.

Re: Phillip Walsh murdered
We all love football. We all love the distraction that football brings to the issues of our day to day lives.
When the day to day tragedies of our community and society directly impact on our sporting loves we feel the tragedy even more.
RIP Phil Walsh, this is truly a tragedy in the true sense of the word.
Puts football and all the squabbles into some perspective.
