Changes for next week
Billings in for Saad
Acres or Curren in for Templeton
maybe Hickey for Longer, that's a toss-up
Looks like a better balanced team with fewer specialist small forwards and more who can go through the midfield.

Saad/Sinclair for McCartin.
To me, even with Membrey, we were too small.
Both Membrey and Bruce are not CHFs, the former is a mid-sized player and the latter is almost a crash and bash player that runs in and runs out of games. Is he a key? No.

Re: Changes for next week
We cant keep Saad and Templeton in the side They didn't touch the ball in the pre-season so I'm not sure the coach is being honest about 'picking on form.'
Eli still a very young kid - so no worries there. But we cant have two small guys in the fwd line doing nothing.
Billings comes in obviously and then one other (Acres?).
p.s
I have no idea how we accommodate Hickey, Longer, Bruce.

I cant see us playing 2 ruckmen. I would have Hickey in for Longer. Rooy mightn't be able to play either. Schneider was good today. he is very safe.

Fair on hickey over longer, can't be Bruce though that's silly.plugger66 wrote:SainterK wrote:Out saad Eli Schneider

Out: Saad
In: Billings
Montagna may get suspended over a couple of incidents, so Acres comes in for him in that case
McCartin is a really long way off. We'd be crucifying him by playing him now

Saad templeton both out - lonie is good but not quite ready
Billy took a few more marks but was killed by Mumford - would have hickey in
Shenton out as so as Webster is ready
So next week
Out saad,templeton, lonie longer
In billings, white , acres hickey

Does not matter who we put in - look at the stats - we will be smashed no matter who we have in!

Re: Changes for next week
Not sure who will be available eg. Webster but from what I know:
In: Billings, McCartin, Acres, Goddard, Hickey
Out:
Saad - just what is his position? - he's not a crumbing forward but he's not big enough to be lead out forward
Shenton - did ok but I'd like see Goddard get a run
Templeton - probably needs a run in the seconds to get his confidence back up
Sinclair - did ok but give him a full go in the seconds to see what he can do
Hickey - thought Longer did well but if Hickey is good to go I think he's more of a weapon at the moment with his marking and goal kicking than Longer

Re: Changes for next week
Saad struggled to get a kick for the whole season in 2013. I'm not sure he troubled the scorers today. I personally don't think he's good enough to play at this level. Surely he has to be behind Billings, Shneider, Eli and Lonie in the pecking order.
Out Saad, Eli
In Billings, Acres
How far away is Webster? Shenton for him as soon as he is ready.

Can you explain the logic of wanting him dropped?
22 disposals, 2 goals and lots of smart play.
Billings yes.
Hickey yes ...as Longer around the ground is useless.
We do need another tall forward, but McCartin did nothing this weekend to earna game.
AR needs to tell the players that will playing on quickly can be good, but that you need to have a look first. Many times we played on quickly today stupidly. ie the person you give the ball too needs to be in clear space with somehwere to go, or it is a disadvantage. For example Longer tooka greart mark in the last quarter and then wasted it by handballing to a team mate hemmed in by the boundary line anda crowd of players.

Re: Changes for next week
Apparently Saad has a great smile and great personality.
So that gets him on an AFL list.

Re: Changes for next week
Richo said in his video that Saad did on OK job on Heath Shaw and that he'll be better for getting the first one out of the way. Doesn't sound like he's inclined to drop him next week.
Re: Changes for next week
Need one more tall. When Bruce went in the ruck we had no options once riewoldt drifted to the wing. So I would bring in the second ruckman. billings and hickey for saad and Templeton .

Ok job on Heath Shaw - give me a break.bergholt wrote:Richo said in his video that Saad did on OK job on Heath Shaw and that he'll be better for getting the first one out of the way. Doesn't sound like he's inclined to drop him next week.
Ahmed did well and impressed in 2012 with 7 good games. So well done. Promising first year.
In 2013 - he was putrid. Had only one good game for the year in Rd3 against a very young GWS side. Barely touched the ball after that for the rest of the season.
2014 - banned
2015 pre season - barely touched the ball at all.
Now the coach likes to make out he is honest and tells us he picks on form but Saad hasnt shown good form in almost 3 years.
Now maybe hes a nice guy. Nice smile. Wears nice suits. I don't know. But hes not being selected on form.

Maybe the coach has been told to play him as part of our new INCLUSIVE ASPIRATIONAL "be what you want" mantra!Con Gorozidis wrote:Ok job on Heath Shaw - give me a break.bergholt wrote:Richo said in his video that Saad did on OK job on Heath Shaw and that he'll be better for getting the first one out of the way. Re: Changes for next week
Agree re Schnieder. I wouldn't even consider dropping him, did some clever things and fairly reliable near goal. Wasn't Longers worst game, but if Hickeys fit or ready to go, I'd play him in a heartbeat over Longerplugger66 wrote:SainterK wrote:Out saad Eli Schneider

Re: Changes for next week
Can't complain about the effort. Game plan is sound. We just lack a bit of polish and at times decision making. Expect two changes, Roo is fine and Billy will keep his place.
