Re: BOYD - Gawn to Dogs
Missed opportunity unfortunately, has to many mates at the Dogs - Stringer, Bonts etc
Re: BOYD - Gawn to Dogs
Well done Dogs, got their man..
Had a rough week, but may work out for them in the long run, after copping a lot of flack..
Very good young midfield and a key forward now with the sky as the limit.

Unbelievable. GWS looking like real fools despite probably winning on this trade.
Quite confident we won't be getting Petracca now.

Re: BOYD - Gawn to Dogs
As I said various media outlets have said $$$ was to good to refuse & he knows more than a few players down that way, so it makes perfect sense for Boyd to make the move.saint-stu wrote:So did Boyd not want to come to us? Not sure how we couldn't outbid the dogs.

GWS got a 28yo AA player and got pick 6 throw in.
GWS need/wanted experienced quality players in the 26-29 age group. We dont have any to offer.

Re: BOYD - Gawn to Dogs
I wonder what Brendan McCartney is thinking, he never had a key forward, the Bullies didn't try this hard for a Key tall during his tenure.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: BOYD - Gawn to Dogs
part of me thinks GWS knew this would happen when they picked Boyd up .... they didnt need another big forward but Boyd was by far the standout for the number 1 pick .. they tried to trade that pick but didnt get what they wanted so picked him knowing that it wouldnt be long before the clubs came sniffing to do a deal to grab one of the big three forwards (they prob felt they would be doing this next year but Boyd wanting out pushed it forward a year ) in the end the Giants get an established senior player and a good draft pick that could with other picks get them the best young midfielder ... it might look like they lost but really i think things are going to plan just right for them ...

Have a look at the letter Boyd has written to the bulldog fans ...is he for real.......??
Dear Bulldogs fans
Today marked the end of my tour of duty of Western Sydney.
While I can’t unsee the things I’ve seen, the enormous amount of money your club has bestowed on me today does ease the pain somewhat.
My time at the AFL’s most indifferent outpost taught me that I wanted out of there.
I leave GWS with the knowledge that I’ve achieved everything I wanted to achieve up there.
Those nine games were tough but they’re in the past. I’ve proven myself at AFL level.
No longer will I have to play in front of crowds of 7000 people.
Next year, I’ll be playing in front of crowds almost double that size.
I don’t want to sound ungrateful, I’ll miss some of the young guys up there, but they’re all leaving in the next few years anyway. Especially now that I’ve shown them how.
Every Bulldogs supporter should know that I’m committed to the club for the next few years at least, let’s say seven for now.
The millions of dollars you guys are giving me is awesome, thanks!
When you buy that membership, you should feel good that you’re making a nineteen-year-old’s dreams come true.
Especially the dream of having an enormous amount of money.
Now it’s down to business.
I’m already working hard looking at coaching CVs. I’ll let you know as soon as I’ve picked one.
I’m not old enough to remember Terry Wallace from his coaching days. What do you guys think? His PowerPoint is amazing.
Be more bulldog
