At last, a decent Tribunal/ MRP decision - Lake Petrie

Post: # 1479316Post perfectionist »

Four weeks for Lake is right. Will we see an appeal? Will the AT buckle after a Murdoch/fascist media campaign? Well, it's not Essendon, so they may lay low.

The Herald Scum is trying to rest control of the AFL - our AFL - from those, however imperfect they may be, are not Rupert's patsies. Over to you Gillon (what sort of name is that?).

You know what, I reckon Perfectionist has something of a point.

On Monday Robbo was hot to trot on this - Lake should be exiled to Siberia, etc etc.

Have a look at what he just wrote.

Suddenly, there is implicit criticism that Petrie didn't testify, and that perhaps Lake has been hard done by.

Not a good look.

I dunno, I reckon four weeks is pretty lenient for trying to choke someone.

This line of Robbo's summed it up

As Andrew Woods, for the AFL, pointed out, the laws of society did not stop at the white line and that “Leigh Matthews could tell us that’’.

Ah, that old chestnut, when Matthews was charged with assault for punching Cat Neville Bruns.

Other than adding to the drama -- what purpose would Petrie's evidence about being choked have made -- other than given Robbo some more material

Great to see Robbo has such high morals and standards of fair play.

If it was Baker, it would have been 8 weeks.

Lake/Petrie

Post: # 1479426Post The Redeemer »

I could not find a thread on this so whatevs...

Am I the only one that thought that Petrie raked Lake's face/eyes first causing the obvious choke on Petrie?

If so, Lake should have continued on...

Yep it's a tough one this because technically Petrie instigated the choke. He was trying to get lake off him but prolly didn't mean to go the Judd route. When Lake ( not the sanest bloke around anyway) felt the rake, he applied the choke even more.
