Changes for next week v Nth in Hobart
Looks like our coach may in fact lead the charge for change ...
http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/s ... zsy86.html
‘‘There will be changes made to that team – we can’t dish up that sort of performance and still have the same guys have the honour and the opportunity to represent the club,’’ he said.
‘They will have forfeited their position, there’s no doubt about that, but whoever comes in - irrespective of how experienced they are - we’ll know that you have to accept the responsibility to make sure that your effort is unquestioned.’
If Joey isn't carrying an injury (and fwiw, he didn't train yesterday), he might be one in contemplation.

Re: Changes for next week v Nth in Hobart
Hickey can only come in for one player, and that's longer, does he deserved to be dropped?
Acres, wright( if not concussed), Hayes , curren , Bruce
Out- tdl, dunnell, Ross , Roberton, dunstan

When they're getting thrashed by 84 points, who cares about team balance, play em bothjonesy wrote:Hickey can only come in for one player, and that's longer, does he deserved to be dropped?

Because we're the slowest side in history with no spread and we're going to play an extra ruck?
Bring back the Lockett era

Two talls out, four talls in? We already look slow, this would make us look like we're about four guys short.coopergrech wrote:In : Hickey , Fisher , Curren , White (Debut) , Bruce

Re: Changes for next week v Nth in Hobart
Richo spoke positively about Bruce in the presser, following a question about the possibility he could play forward. Also hinted White might be an outside chance to come in sooner than he otherwise might.
And then spoke generally of others who played today that "still aren't ready".
It's worth a look if you haven't seen it. Less platitude, more realism. That might please others on another thread.

Oh, and also confirmed Lee to have surgery this week and Sippa likely to have surgery. Shoulders, obviously. Seemed to assume both were done for the season.

Get games into the future.
Just my opinion

People are already saying the coach is useless. I'm not sure he should start making even worse team selections to prove them right.SainterK wrote:We're getting thrashed anyway.jonesy wrote:Because we're the slowest side in history with no spread and we're going to play an extra ruck?

Re: Changes for next week v Nth in Hobart
Playing unfit players, or guys undeserving isn't in his best interest either.
Re: Changes for next week v Nth in Hobart
Not many deserving guys! He's between a rock and a hard place, isn't he? Probably worth giving him the benefit of the doubt for a couple of years.SainterK wrote:Playing unfit players, or guys undeserving isn't in his best interest either.

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Piss Lee off. He has dud shoulders and will never be strong enough to play AFL.SemperFidelis wrote:Oh, and also confirmed Lee to have surgery this week and Sippa likely to have surgery. Shoulders, obviously. Seemed to assume both were done for the season.

Agree. It's beyond a joke. Not like he has a huge upside or was a top rated pick.magnifisaint wrote:Piss Lee off. After shoulder surgery, shoulders are normally stronger than ever.magnifisaint wrote:Piss Lee off. I would give him another year.

It doesn't look like it's done him any good.

Yep. Not sure where/how u came up with this questionable theory.saintsRrising wrote:After shoulder surgery, shoulders are normally stronger than ever.magnifisaint wrote:Piss Lee off. But certainly hasnt been the case in this instance.
Maybe he will get a better surgeon or result this time or maybe he has genetically weak shoulders and simply wont ever be strong enough to play regular afl footy.
2015 or bust for Tom Lee in the AFL.
He wont get another shot after that.

who fraaking knows... Bruce Hickley in Robo Dunell out.
depends on what North shows up... could either be a close one or a blood bath.

Then the people question the coach even more. You have to have some sort of balance otherwise 84 becomes 184 otherwise lets just play Jimmy at FF and Stanley BP as well as Hickey as a rover. Its like people saying play more young guys. We have enough as it is. Cant play them all or if you lets do what citywest suggested and delist everyone over 27 years of age because lets face it none will be around in the next finals assult.

Re: Changes for next week v Nth in Hobart
While I agree that Joey had a shocker yesterday it seemed to be the accumulation of getting injured during the game/heavily tagged/having an off day. He should play this week if fit , his experience warrants inclusion particularly if Lenny remains out.

Re: Changes for next week v Nth in Hobart
In: Bruce and White - as 2 tall, mobile options up forward, to draw 2 tall defenders and thus help free up Riewoldt (and give him some one-on-one contests for a change).
White provides some good forward pressure - works hard and should be rewarded, and Bruce looked confident up forward.
