Milera
Did some good things like setting up that goal for Roo and a few other things.
But on the negative provided a team heads down moment with THAT non mark, and then moments later after unluckily being free-kicked gave away 50 metres - 2 goal turnaround!

Re: Milera
Forgetting a minute or two before the non mark he butchered an easy pass to armo that would have seen a shot on goal.

Re: Milera
He made a couple of howlers, the dropped chest mark being particularly embarrassing. Then again, he provided a bit of dash in an otherwise rather one-paced midfield. I've said it before, he'd be a damaging player in a good side.

Re: Milera
Not AFL standard. Floating half forwards with no defensive skills and a reluctance to attack the contest are of little value even if they have nice foot skills and leg speed

Agre. If he is kept next season it really shows how far we have to go. Same with Dunell. They are older types who just arent up yo AFL footy. It happens and we have far to many at the moment.

Re: Milera
I waver with Milera, sometimes he looks to have turned the corner, then he rverts back to bad Terry!! NOt sure beyond this year...might get cut, as pointed out he's not young, but he certainly has pace and can be crafty aeround the forward 50...i'm not pashionately for or against him, but would rather see young guns 'push' him out of the team with excellent performances in the VFL, ala Saunders...gets dropped, goes back and carves it up...that's what i'm looking for!!

Milera at a good side would be very handy.

Re: Milera
Milera has good skills, but his big problem is his lack of body strength- he just can't body a strong opponent out of the way..really obvious yesterday. I don't think he is up to it. I would much rather see Murdoch at half forward.

Re: Milera
Been amongst our best his last 2 games. Made one howler, as did many others including the captain. Give him a break. At least he can kick, unlike half the side. Why not discuss why Weller couldn't kick straight or why our so called good players fumble so bloody much.

Re: Milera
Sadly, as I think the dropped chest mark at a critical time reminded me of Garletts two dropped marks (was it last week?), I think Terry just cannot take the body contact. Compare his effort to a recent effort by one J Selwood - running back with the flight, looking over his shoulder at the ball and taking the chest mark. Now of course Selwood is a freak- not just for his unusually long neck but for his courage. The point- one of the most remarkable attributes of the modern footballer is the physical courage it takes to play the game as if there is no-one around you. I am sure I could not do it, and many a skilled player struggles (the non skilled are quickly weeded out). I suspect he has the rest of the year to show the coach this was an aberration.

Bloody oath. Was in the game at least, unlike some.8856brother wrote:Been amongst our best his last 2 games. Made one howler, as did many others including the captain. Give him a break. We played an ordinary side. To even suggest we were competitive because Milera came in is a bit much. he is an ordinary footballer who may survive because we have so many ordinary or old footballers. This isnt a knock on him but the reason we struggle is because we have to many players around his ability.
Re: Milera
Think he had two possessions in the first half ...handy !!
Jack Newnes happy to be a Saint !!!! PS and to hit a target !!!
Re: Milera
The thing that disappointed me was that he dished off to Shenton and then got in a fight with a defender which left him with no options and he was caught holding the ball. Not looking after his teammate!!!

I'm with bro… He's played 3 good games, now one average one, give him a break, he hasn't even played 30 AFL games yet.8856brother wrote:Been amongst our best his last 2 games. He's allowed a bad half. Stanley is allowed a bad 10 games.

Re: Milera
Will probably be dropped for Scheider. He was having a good season with Sandy. He can now start where he left off with them.
Curb your enthusiasm - you’re a St.Kilda supporter!!
Lets get one thing straight about Milera....
He will never be AFL standard. I am not knocking the guy but it is what it is. He has had some serviceable games this year but that's the extent of it.
While I'm at it......
I have been a huge wrap on Stanley but I'm afraid that he is in the same basket as Milera. It is a huge shame because if someone could teach him how to use his incredible speed to his advantage he could be anything. Stanley is the classic example that it is one thing being an amazing athlete, but an entirely different thing being a footballer. I haven't completely given up on Rhys but I fear that if he doesn't do something by the end of this year he will not be at the Saints in 2015.
