What about Milney? He certainly qualifies. Lenny said he beat him to 300 by one game.

All I know about Siera is he was bitten by a great white and his family owned sierakowskis in Brighton. And he had a son who is porobably our best father son which is a little sad.

He also played in a flag for Subiaco in 1973 when they broke a 49 year premiership drought.

Being a lawyer the shark displayed professional courtesy and chomped on his surf ski instead of his leg.

Aware that Sera was a solicitor, the shark displayed discretion and bit the surfboard, not wanting to catch anything nasty.

There were enduring names involved in the Subiaco team that broke a 49-year premiership drought in 1973.

The captain-coach was Ross Smith, a member of St Kilda’s premiership team of 1966, as was Brian Sierakowski, who lined up a centre-half-forward for Subiaco. Peter Featherby played in the centre and came back after a distinguished VFL career to be part of Subi’s next triumph in 1986. Future club presidents Peter Metropolis and Neil Randall were there along with Test cricketer Mick Malone, legendary full-forward Austin Robertson, John Dimmer, who went on to coach West Perth and South Fremantle to premierships, and current AFL chairman Mike Fitzpatrick.

Subiaco 10.12 (72) West Perth 6.4 (42)

Simpson Medal: Dennis Blair (S)

Ross Smith also coached the WA state team in 1974 against SA at Football Park who was coached by another former Saints coach Mike Patterson.
The feral SA fans had a go at me in the crowd after SA won, I was about the only vocal WA fan (for one day only) in that section of the outer.
I said "I am a Victorian". Amazingly they then shut up.

George Young was devastated that he missed out on the Subi flag after he had crossed to the Saints earlier that year.

Brian's real strength was his marking ability and he had the strength to hold his position against the opposition's bigger players going forward. Was surprised to see he played CHF in Subiaco's premiership side as I didn't think his kicking was all that flash.

Lenny looked to young to be up there getting Life membership.

[http://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-pre ... 6846387721
quote]
NICK Riewoldt, Matthew Pavlich and Darren Glass seemed as old and new as the modernised Adelaide Oval.

The elder statesmen of the current-day captains looked a treat ahead of their 14th, 15th and 15th seasons respectively, but not even their tanned, taut bodies and a genuine enthusiasm for the new season could disguise the fact that time doesn’t pause for anyone.

“I do feel old,’’ Riewodlt said. “The first time I came to this day there was Buckley, Hird, Voss, Koutoufides, Peter Bell, David Neitz ... yeah, it goes quick.’’

That was the class of 2005 — Buckley, Hird, Voss, Kouta, Bell, Neitz, Ricciuto, King, Vandenberg, Simpson, Tredrea, Johnson, Maxfield, Cousins and Darcy.

The class of 2014 is Riewoldt, Pavlich, Glass, Selwood, Pendlebury, Murphy, Watson, Cotchin, Jack/McVeigh, Boak, Adcock, Hodge, Swallow, Griffen, Jones/Grimes, Ward/Davis and, of course, Gazza.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
And, yep, Riewoldt is envious. Not of Hodge, or Pav, or Glass, but the young fellas.

“I’m envious of those young guys because they’ve got it all to go through,’’ he said. “I’d love to be 21 again, doing it all again.’’[/quote]
