Nicknames for the new boys
What will we call the "newbies"? I suggest the following;
Billings - "method"
Dunstan - "Don"
Acres - "Green"
Thoughts?
Billings - "method"
Dunstan - "Don"
Acres - "Green"
Thoughts?

A friend of mine is friends with Billings and they call him JB and Jabba (or something like that).

I don't understand any of those nicknames, but to me Billings is "the new jack." Reckon him and steven will be the best jack-jack midfield combo in the comp!

Re: Nicknames for the new boys
For those not as ancient as me, I offer these explanations. The Billings method was a natural contraceptive technique, also known as the rhythm method, where you avoided sex in the periods where the woman was at the peak of fertility in her cycle. Don Dunstan was the, ahem, "flamboyant" premier of South Australia, who was famous for wearing pink, short "shorts" into parliament. Green Acres was a classic cult TV sitcom of the 60's, starring Eva Gabor and Eddie Albert. The theme was what we would today call a "tree change". Classic characters such as Arnold Ziffel and Hank Haney, for those who can remember it. Still going around on Foxtel today. Ok, I know, I'm an old fart, who's totally out of touch. Just felt I owed the young'uns an explanation.

You must be almost as old as me. And the Billings method is actually a method of getting pregnant, but they don't tell you that bit until it works!White Winmar wrote:For those not as ancient as me, I offer these explanations. It's not up to us to give them nickname. It's what their teammates come up with, or the nicknames they've already got.

Sorry BS. As if what we say on here influences what they do. It's just a bit of fun for us.
