GWS/Bruce

Post: # 1408868Post Saintmatt »

So - c'mon Gubby & SOS - let's see the size of your cohunas now?

You could've had pick 41 last night for Bruce and now the best you'll get is pick 48 for Bruce. More likely you'll end up with nada/nix/nought in the PSD.

Go and get stuffed you free-loading flogs!

Awesome trade period for us. All we need to do is pick up 3 guns in the draft and we are on our way.

Well done Saints. Some professional Trading for a change !! It's good to see that we have held our breath on this, so-to-speak.

Still, we have lost Dal, but Savage is a younger, "partial" replacement.

The thing is, they won't even use pick 48 anyway...

Still, as a matter of principle, we'll just take him in the PSD. They could have on-traded pick 41 for a handy, mature bodied type to play whilst their young brigade develop.

We have to look at 2013 as the galss half full.
If we didn't have Pelchen and had some incompetence in his position we'd be in dire straits.
We've done well sainters !
Now for three jets in the draft :-)

They will use it on Lamb from the Swans I think.

Longer and pick 48 to St Kilda in return for picks 25 & 41.

That pretty well wrecks any chance of Buce coming to St Kilda in excahnge for a pick.
If GWS would not release him for pick 41 they wont release him for pick 48.

It would seem that St Kilda recognised GWS was not going to play ball on Bruce for pick 41, and Brisbane was not going to accept just pick 25 for Longer.

They decided to give up pick 41 to ensure they got Longer and will now try to get Bruce with pick 3 in the pre season draft.
GWS would be have to be crazy to use pre season draft pick no 1 to reclaim Bruce.

It would have been nice to have got both Longer and Bruce for draft picks and then had pick 3 in the preseason available for some one else.
But not to be.

Not a bad trade in the end for them if it works that way for them. Lamb will be their starting HFF and in their mids rotation.

They hold the upper hand as Lamb is happy to walk to them in the PSD.

GWS accepted pick 48 for Bruce.

What a trade period for us. CHB and FB sorted for the near future a gun ruckman for up to a decade and a very very good midfielder all within an age range we've struggled in. The pelican has done a great job

Read it but didn't believe it. Thought he meant to say we had got Longer.
Gee GWS stuffed up big time, forced to accept pick 48 when they could have had pick 41.

We got both the players we wanted
AND WE STILL HAVE PICK 3 IN THE PRE SEASON DRAFT.
Excellent outcome.

Dont think we will use the PSD. That is just about finished as a way of getting players unless organised beforehand like Tippett at the Swans.

Is there a chance that SOS has a soft spot for us and let us have 41 to secure Longer all along knowing that Bruce will be a Sainter.......I believe in Human Goodness and Lyality even after you have left a club.

Might be a couple of hollow spots or dead spots in his grey matter but not sure if there's any soft spots

Just watched the Bruce highlights and was just staggered at how insipid Melbourne were.
Most pathetic attempts at tackles I have seen at AFL level.

As for the man himself - outmarked McPharlin which is no mean feat.

I assume we are paying decent coin to all our 4 recruits.

so with picks a plenty do we take a shot at Garlett? or allow the Mitch to build into the small forward... TDL is on borrowed time imo... could be his last year as a saint.
