Umpires Directive
Dear umpires,
We need interstate clubs to make the finals to promote our market and maximise the value of our brand.
If it looks like one of our franchise Interstate teams is going to lose a close game look for ways to get them up.
Make it subtle, like not paying marks or finding a 50 metre penalty to maximise a goal opportunity etc.
Kind regards,
The Fat Greasy B@stard

Re: Umpires Directive
Alas, they pay no mind because it's less likely to come under media scrutiny when the team getting bent over and rogered from behind is one near the foot of the ladder.Enrico_Misso wrote:Dear umpires,

On the other hand, if it was someone like Collingwood, there probably would have been a near riot, followed by an Eddie McMedia public lynching.
Curb your enthusiasm - you’re a St.Kilda supporter!!

Re: Umpires Directive
Surely after all the games this season 'plugger66' can admit that we've been screwed on multiple occasions!? It all started against Richmond and j.Riewold and his 5 shots on goal from free's until tonight! The major turnaround from Stanley going for a tackle that turns into a 50m penalty, or Saunders kicking a goal that was reversed and a 50m penalty added that resulted in a goal for a non existent free a giant Armo.. Shall we even mention the West Coast game where the umps were almost lynched!!?

Well i think it certainly is. Ive seen your understanding of racism previously. Not sure you get it. To the person above your post, I have no idea what you are onabout. Didnt mention how good or bad the umpires were.

We cost ourselves the game last night in the first quarter
We cost ourselves the game last night with poor kicking at goal in last quarter
Umpires cost us the game last night with three JUST PLAIN WRONG decisions in the last quarter, not to mention (if my memory serves me right) frees for their third and fourth goals in quarter one.

Re: Umpires Directive
Plugger 66 I said there were three bad decisions by umpires. They IMO cost us the game, but so did our appalling first quarter and poor kicking for goal in last quarter

Re: Umpires Directive
Why would people assume the FGB description is about a certain member of the AFL hierarchy.
Perhaps because he is F and he is G.
(OK technically he might not be a B).
So if a description is accurate it is hardly racist.

I am a new MOD.
One of the key reasons for PROPOSED re-working the rules were the loopholes that exist. A good example that has been highlighted over the past few weeks is racism on the forum.
The current rule is:
DISCRIMINATION
You may not insult members based on their religion, race, sex, age, political beliefs or sexual orientation. This is a very simple guideline. Saintsational is a community where all members are equal. Any sort of discrimination will not be tolerated at all.
As such the warnings can only be for "racism against members" thus under current rules calling Carlton supporters a racist term or an AFL CEO "greasy" is not against current rules. It also does not "discriminate" against Carlton supporters or the AFL CEO - although they and others may be (rightfully) offended.
To close loopholes like this, I have proposed the following:
"There will be zero tolerance for baiting, belittling, badgering, bullying or any insulting, abusive, sexist, racist, homophobic or threatening behaviour, or any personal attacks in this Fan Forum."
28 words that catch all to replace a couple of paragraphs.
Once we have new forum rules in place - warnings can be issued for ANY racist behaviour.

Re: Umpires Directive
The umpiring this year has been poor.
Not just our games, but when you watch the other matches,
You realise just how bad they are at times.
I love to see 2 umps only....
