The Melbourne Saints
I propose a merger. Gives us home games at the G and a heap of afl sweeteners leading to our first GF win of 3 a la Brisbane.
Please discuss
Also note I have deliberately chosen Melbourne over the roos / doggies as I think as a club they have more value (the mcg)

The one guarantee is that the AFL will make sure you don't fold. They can't have an AFL without a team called Melbourne.
Opinions are like arseholes, everybody's got one.

Well if they gave us the same hand out as the brions, and we were gifted a few flags, had our debt wiped out, given there best playes(if they have any) played all away games at the G, we wear our jumper StKilda Saints, then maybe we could let them put the demons logo on the players jocks, that would work for me.
I love this club

No, The AFL will rebuild Moorabbin and we will play our home games there.

Re: The Melbourne Saints
the 3 flags to me would be hollow.
The saints can take over Melbourne and be renamed to the Melbourne Saints keeping everything else the same no problem at all in my book but a merger would just gut me regardless of any good short term outcomes. Say the did win a premiership in the near future would it be the Saints 2nd premiership ever or the Melbourne's 13th ?

I would fully expect EVERY club in their situation to have supporters doing the same.Saints43 wrote:What a coup it would be to get those supporters who yell at the players going down the race and wave white flags to get themselves on TV.
Regardless of how shambolicly the club is run, the players are gutless and not giving anywhere near their all.
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.

Better cancel next year's EPL season. Have to get London FC promoted, I guess.remboy wrote:The one guarantee is that the AFL will make sure you don't fold. They can't have an AFL without a team called Melbourne.
Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Yeah agree - this idea that just their name will save them is crap.evertonfc wrote:Better cancel next year's EPL season. Have to get London FC promoted, I guess.remboy wrote:The one guarantee is that the AFL will make sure you don't fold. They can't have an AFL without a team called Melbourne.
No London FC. No Los Angeles in the NFL either.

I agree with the no thanks, however I would still support football, just not a football team.
Maybe GWS
Lance or James??

Yeah, they're the first club to be a shambles and have dispirited players.saintspremiers wrote:I would fully expect EVERY club in their situation to have supporters doing the same.Saints43 wrote:What a coup it would be to get those supporters who yell at the players going down the race and wave white flags to get themselves on TV.

I have never seen St Kilda supporters - en masse - acting like that. And I could probably make a case that we have performed below expectation on and off the field in the past. Probably.
Anyone who acts like that at the race and not at the players exit outside the ground is a self important coward. I can't believe you reckon people should act like that.
