Harry Taylor
He is a must for us in 2014. We can build a team around this guy.
27 in 2014, 4yr contract $700k a year.
f*** Westcoast, we should try to keep first round pick (maybe pick 6) trade pick 24, Gilbert (Insert name here) to Gold Coast for pick 21.
Trade Harry Taylor for pick 24 & 21.
Means we keep pick 6, 42, 60 + Harry Taylor
Long shot but Geelong might take it especially if Westcoast might get him for nothing at pick 12-13.
He will keep us very competitive and might just fast track a revival in 3 years instead of 5.
thoughts?

Dream on.
With Cats looking likely to stay a top team for a while Harry is going no where, unless he decides to head home.
Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....
Re: Harry Taylor
can they afford him?
$700 is a lot more than $400??
Already won a few flags?
thats $1.2mil difference over four years.

Dockers and/or Eagles will throw the kitchen sink at him I reckon.
Hes an absolute gun.
We have no chance.

Re: Harry Taylor
No chance of going anywhere. We'd focus on negotiating with Geelong for a week and a half trying to throw everything at them and be left in no mans land again.
Id rather put focus into developing the players we have and put some effort into trying to pry loose Frawley or Pears or a similar type

Re: Harry Taylor
Cannot fit him into the cap.
Money won't sway him, apparently a Perth boy, Dockers or WCE would beckon.
Not a club in rebuild phase. Never.

Re: Harry Taylor
WWe do not have any players in the Taylor age bracket to have a crack at the flag, so he is a waste for us, and us a waste for him. We are building from Armitage down. Our hope is that our next load of players come through in 4 years or so. By then Taylor is worthless. Use any picks on good kids (ie people 22 or younger)

Sorry dont get the point of a 27 year old when we got rid of a 27 year old. People need to realise we arent challenging in the next 5 year so by then he will be 32.

Ross Lyon must be licking his lips, if the Buddy deal falls through Harry Taylor as backup...
Imagine McPharlin, Taylor and Dawson playing on third tall... not bad
Ross loves the Taylor type -will float across, impact the contenst and can take a grab much like Fisher was in his prime...

Re: Harry Taylor
i dont reckon McPharlin has much footy left in him ... this very likely could be his last year ... thats why i reckon Freo are secretly more into Harry Taylor than Buddy ... buddy aint going anywhere he is just trying to inflate his pay packetmightysainters wrote:Ross Lyon must be licking his lips, if the Buddy deal falls through Harry Taylor as backup...

Harry Taylor actually serves a purpose in the team, he is worth the money....unlike Tissues Goddard.

No more than Steve Salopek. Pretty sure you rated BJ last year. No point in getting Taylor IMO and why would he come unless we overpaid him a hell of a lot.

Ben is 23 and is developing into a very good ruckman/player which is hard to come by these days relax.

You need to get guys in to stay professional and hold the kids up. I would sound him out but is unlikely. Players are more swayed by money these days. Goddard has softened the path for them ironically.

Hopefully Rhys will be an All Australian defender by the end of 2013. No need then. Otherwise Pears would be worth a look- he must have had enough drugs to get his body right by now

There is no way we'd get pick 21 for Gilbert....if I read the OP correctly
we might get a round 21 pick for him...
we might get a round 21 pick for him...
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Re: Harry Taylor
About time we picked talent like that. A lot of people here whinge how Geelong had many father and son picks but geez their recruiting has been light years ahead of us.
In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Did not rate BJ last year at all.......I'm sure you did the back ground check on me plugger and found nothing.plugger66 wrote:andrewg wrote:plugger66 wrote:Sorry dont get the point of a 27 year old when we got rid of a 27 year old.
