Any Ideas for Captain 2013?

Any thoughts? Any rumours/decisions??

I haven't really heard much about the captaincy other than Rooey suggested last season he wasn't going to take it on in 2013.

I've always thought Dal Santo was a reasonable option.

At this point I'd say Riewoldt is guaranteed to keep it. If McEvoy or Armo step up big time then they'll be in the box seat for 2014.

Rooy has to captain as Ben isnt quite ready. I reckon Ben is just about certain in 2014 if he continues to improve.

that is an issue. although i think its a bi-product of our list demographic to a certain extent, in that we have a void in the older younger group of players (armo's and stevo's of the world). so we dont have an obvious leader coming through.

macca has his own issues. the obvious answer i think is to keep roo in the seat for one more year. then pass it over to a dal santo/monty for a year or two. by then i think a leader will emerge from the newnes crop of players or potentially as some have said macca will be ready

do you really believe in training captains, id hope sum one puts there hand up by working hard, playing hard and be a good role model threw there own natural progresion and passion. Unless you ment training for the media etc

Thanks for the input folks. I'm surprised most think he'll go on with the job, but since I hadn't heard anything either, or any whispers... perhaps you're on the money with Roo retaining the captaincy.

I think the problem with Ben as Captain would be if he lost lst ruck position.

One of the perks for Brendon Judas Goddard staying at St.Kilda would been having the captaincy being passed on to him. He seemed quite eager, especially with his excessive finger pointing on the field. Of course, we all have to exhale on that idea now.

At this stage, I can't see the captaincy changing since it seems a little late in the piece to call for a leadership change.

Big Mac seems like a good proposition for 2014. A lot will depend on how good he is this year.

Both Dal and Joey seem like logical candidates, but the problem for both of them is that they're not exactly long term captains with them being pretty much veteran players now.

Let's hope a handful of the young guns can really step it up this year and prove that they are future leadership material.

I don't think Mac should be captain, I just don't see him as a leader. Roo should stay, or be it Lenny.

TBH, the players should vote for their captain, there is always one or two. I really didn't think BJ should be captain either, he gets too grumpy on the field. You really need those Dal, Fisher, Dempster type guys tbh.

only way someone else gets a turn is if he steps down, or retires...

I personally would like to see Nick's game day duties scaled back, let him focus on playing, and recovery...

Why does having Roo captain suggest the team isnt first? Anyway it isnt happening. I cant believe there are people who think Roo wont be captain but then again there was some last year as well.
