Can we bank 13 ?
I assume the answer is NO but would be nice if we could bank pick 13.
It looks like by the time the pick is confirmed any chance to trade it will have been lost - forcing us to spend it in the draft. Which may end up fine - but it would be nice to have the choice.

Con, everything I've been reading indicates the Goddard comp pick must be used this year.Con Gorozidis wrote:I assume the answer is NO but would be nice if we could bank pick 13.

Re: Can we bank 13 ?
THE bottom teams have been handed a significant advantage over the top sides under the free agency system, with the AFL confirming that clubs cannot ''bank'' the draft pick they earn when they lose a gun player.

Unfortunately we can't however we can enter prelim discussions for trades, and even use pick 12 as our contingency...

Re: Can we bank 13 ?
We still have ONE FULL WEEK in which to do something with the Goddard Compensation Pick, if we want to. Trade Period goes for 3 weeks. Compo Pick will be known at the end of the 2nd week !!Con Gorozidis wrote:I assume the answer is NO but would be nice if we could bank pick 13.

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

Re: Can we bank 13 ?
Surely we need to use it this year regardless, we are so desperate for young talent.
Banking picks is just an extra complication in the draft/trading anyway I reckon, I'm glad it will be finished once the new teams have settled.

We will definately use it. Whether we trade or draft with it is the real question !!dragit wrote:Surely we need to use it this year regardless, we are so desperate for young talent.

Re: Can we bank 13 ?
Is there any chance of getting more than one pick for Goddard? eg. First round and second or third round? I'm pretty sure Gablett and Scully earned their old clubs two first rounders. I'm not saying that Goddard is better than Ablett but he is a previous number 1 pick and done more than Scully has.

And if we end up using that poorly we'll end up getting sweet FA for FAplugger66 wrote:doppler effect wrote:Is there any chance of getting more than one pick for Goddard? eg. What if Port get a first rounder for losing Pearce and Chaplan? We will still get 13 but we lose 12 and pick up 14.Ralphy wrote:saintsnoob wrote:Who has pick 13? Melbourne or St.Kilda iif we get first rounder for goddard?
