Things i enjoyed about tonights game ?
The best thing about tonights game was a full team effort for four quarters .
We kicked straight !
We didn't miss Bj !
also it was great watching the essendon players all sooky la la , when they either gave away a free or didn't get one !
What did the rest of you enjoy ?

enjoyed a lot, still a little shocked about the game its self to be honest... I really expected this last week and a hard tight one this week.
loved seeing us kill the bombers in most aspects of the game.... Hird looked like he was in shock most the game, loved it. what i didn't love was that cheap hit on Lenny

Interesting about BJ, I almost reckon we played better because we weren't constantly looking for him for the get out kick...also he's not that good a defender IMO. I'd love him to play HFF.
Nee!
Re: Things i enjoyed about tonights game ?
I thought we finally got the team balance right. Looked a lot more sure of ourselves in defence.

i loved the application - how we tackled hard and enjoyed the results it got
increased margins at every break, never letting 'em have a sniff

I liked the 4 quarter aspect.
No chance of Essendon making one of their 'late surges' as the boys kept pushing hard until the final siren.

Loved the tackling, for me its the barometer, loved the straight kicking, loved the even contribution, loved the focus on defensive pressure. Will win a few more if they bring that effort week in week out

I liked it when that tripper-kicker Fletcher bashed Rooeys head, argued about what the free was for and gave away 50 and the goal.

Just like v Carlton and Sydney an even team performance and the result takes care of itself

Love to knock off Collingwood at the G and Geelong giving us the quinella this season.

Just watched the replay and watched some of the lesser lights a bit closer. Cj was really important in that first half with his hard running, Kosi was very very good in the first half as was Wilkes and Dempster. Still a few Areas for improvement though, Gwilt is stilloff the pace and we missed a few tackles at critical times notably through Steven and Geary although not through lack of effort.

Just loved seeing James T@rd on the screen....he looked like a rabbit in the headlights!
In honour of those who went before, in the dark and desperate years.

Loved that the bombers have to go back to the drawing board , we made them look very average loved the look of disappointment on their collective coaching faces they know they are not top 4 and that they are at risk of not making the 8. Loved that their small forwards didn't kick many goals and that our perceived lack of pace isn't true.loved our gang tackling , 2 or 3 saints all over 1 bomber they didn't know what hit them. Loved that we didn't have a weak link .

I enjoyed the 6 day break. Much better than a 14 day break.

Stats for all teams after the data is collected on the affects of 6 day breaks, could show that not all 6 day breaks are equal.
The different things about this 6 day break in the game against Essendon.
1 - we didn't have multi 6 day breaks leading into this one (we lost to the Tigers after 3 consecutive 6 dayers)
2 - didn't travel last week, didn't travel this week (we lost to West Coast and Adelaide contending with a 6 dayer and on their home turf).

Re: Things i enjoyed about tonights game ?
Not mentioned so far, I most enjoyed the high quality skills shown by the whole team (i.e. execution): clean quick hands, good kicking both short and long to position, accuracy in front of goal, ferocious tackling, absence of fumbling/clangers. With VG tactics from the coaches and 100% 4 quarter TEAM effort, the Saints showed the basic ability is still there to match it with the best. Well done boys, that is the model for success. Loving what Scott Watters is doing with the team and bringing on some youth and new blood.
