Pump GC vs resting players
Thoughts?
I think we need to rest a couple. Been a tough run with those idiotic 6 day breaks.
Given we have Adelaide on yet another 6 dayer, I think we should sacrifice the big win for player well being.

Re: Pump GC vs resting players
We are in no position to take any opposition for granted.
Imagine if we were to rest players and then lost ?
Last week's footy results are enough evidence of what can happen.
I would say we'll go in with our best side. If we are up by a lot late in the game then we may take the foot off the gas and preserve for the following week.

Exactly. No rests unless we are prepared to concede the season.chook23 wrote:just win first

Re: Pump GC vs resting players
RUTHLESS & RELENTLESS should be our key words this week. This is a game that we are expected to win and win well. Let's go WAY beyond that !!
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

Re: Pump GC vs resting players
We get an 8 day break for this one, then 6 days for Adelaide after which we have a bye. No need to rest anyone, and we absolutely should put our best team on the park for both of these games (and every game IMO).

Re: Pump GC vs resting players
we may well need a decent % at the tail end of the season given we've dropped a few winnables...
priortys:
1. Win
2. Percentage boost
... guess it's the same as every other week

An injury to a tired Lenny, then we would need to concede the season.bigcarl wrote:Exactly. No rests unless we are prepared to concede the season.chook23 wrote:just win first

The other option is to go in full strength and if we are up by plenty in the last rest the stars.

We have a bye after the Adelaide game...suck it up!
Also we are 5 & 5 !!!!!
We can hardly afford to rest players . the way the season is shaping up , We will need at least 13 wins and % to make the eight !
We're a long way off 13 wins .

Re: Pump GC vs resting players
we have a bye on the horizon . PUMP EM!
for the record - at the start of the year everyone said our draw in the first half of the year was easy and harder in the 2nd.
AS it pans out - the first half has been quite difficult (adelaide and west coast both AWAY port adelaide AWAY not played gsw yet)
So a lot to look fwd to for us after the bye...

So that gives Lenny a two-week gap between matches?Teflon wrote:I'd rest hayesfelix wrote:Rest Lenny bring in ledger . Have Lenny fresh as a daisy for the crows and see how the Ledge goes.Surely we can

Why Hayes? If he looks tired then by all means however he looks fine.
Perhaps he is a player that wants to play and gets out of touch by not playing?

Re: Pump GC vs resting players
Not top four but top two. We are not in the position to rest anyone but I would rest Lenny if anyone for this game. I'm hoping we catch out Crows after their long break so we can go into the bye at 7-5 which would be a terrific result.Leo.J wrote:We must win this game and win it well to be any sort of a chance at the pointy end.
Resting is a luxury for teams that are guaranteed a top 4 spot.

Your right Lenny probably doesn't want a break , his time is limited in the game and wants to make the most of it. He found good form pretty quick after such a long lay off so I wouldn't be to concerned about missing one game. I was thinking a week off may help his knee in the long run and freshen him up as he has been a battering ram for 2 months.
