Who gets McQualter?
Big call I know.
Who will be the talented player that has to tag McQualter in our backline because he will do such a good job on one of our backs?
With such a talented tagger/footballer we need to isolate him and make sure he is away from the contest, where he excels at....
Ah bugger it I cannot lie.
His useless defensive forward pressure and bugger all tackling ability shall be enjoyable to watch come Saturday

Re: Who gets McQualter?
That could be correct however his absolutely shithouse tackling in the Grand Final in 2010 will live in my memory for quite a while.SainterK wrote:Wow, you're so mean.
His tackling in general...oh and his ability to never get the ball but best of all never do anything with it once he somehow received it.
Plus his handballs to other players when straight infront inside 40...

now I'm certainly not an McQualter fan by any means
but IIRC didn't he tackle really well in the 2nd half of the GF vs Coll (after being 1 of several players that did NOTHING in the 1st half, pretty much indicative of his game all throughout 2010)
he's looking pretty good for the GC atm
once he was taken out of the world's stupidest football role

Just trying to get a rise out of fellow posters. Feel sorry for people like you.

Re: Who gets McQualter?
Yeah, bit harsh. may not have been the most talented saints player ever, but he was still one of us. Not sure now why we feel the need to belittle him? He was sacked by the club and is making his way on the GC. I wish him well, and actually hope he has a good game - while we go about smashing the team he plays for. Worse things in life than not being a great AFL footballer - and I'm tipping that 99.999% of ppl who subscribe on here have never had the talent to play ONE AFL game in their lives. He may well be a great bloke, which to me is far more important than kicking a ball around an oval.

Good on you, Moods. Well said!
Mini gave his best for St Kilda when he played with us. (though GF 2009 was not his greatest game)
I, too, wish him well - but let's hope we have a good win against GC Suns with a decent percentage-boosting score!

Re: Who gets McQualter?
i'm certain he won't be shown the same lack of respect by our guys on Saturday
Re: Who gets McQualter?
Agree with past few comments, no need for this thread. Sometimes I look at our supporters and think we are no better than the filth. I used to think we were... more respectful, our understanding and appreciation of the game was higher and due to our history we appreciated the little things a bit more... after being on here for a while Im not so sure. I suppose ignorance used to be bliss...

Re: Who gets McQualter?
Lets bag the player because a coach decided to play a guy who you thought shouldnt have played. makes so much sense. Mini is a very nice guy and as Moods pointed out that is more important than anything he has done on the ground. maybe a couple on here should think about it. Im off for a long lie down and a big think.

Re: Who gets McQualter?
He did nothing in the 2009 GF and nothing for the first half of the 2010 GF before laying a few tackles in the second half however missed in tackling Ben Johnson who kicked it forward for the Cloke goal. It was a simple tackle and one that should not have been missed.skeptic wrote:The Redeemer wrote:That could be correct however his absolutely shithouse tackling in the Grand Final in 2010 will live in my memory for quite a while.SainterK wrote:Wow, you're so mean.

Him on the field is like playing with 17 anyway so we will enjoy the 1 man advantage.bigcarl wrote:i'm certain he won't be shown the same lack of respect by our guys on Saturday
I truly dislike mediocrity at the football club I support and he epitomised it.

Re: Who gets McQualter?
I don`t like players being attacked for their lack of ability. As a player I didnt think he wasvery good, but he must be a lot better than people who bag him as he was actually good enough to be play at AFL, and in a team that played in GF`s.
He had a crack and good on him, hope he does well for GC, just not against us.

I love this club

Yep, hack!
Who cares if he was a good bloke, he was a liabilty on the footy field.
Does it mean i have to like all past or present st.kilda players?
No!
And i wont!

Re: Who gets McQualter?
No-one says you have to like them all as footballers. Why would any person start a thread belittling him though?Batnoe wrote:Yep, hack!

He's never done anything wrong by our club, other than not be as talented or as good as many of us would have liked him to be. Who cares if he was a liability on the football field? He no longer plays for us so why should we care?

Re: Who gets McQualter?
Mini wasn't good enough as a player at the Saints and that's what the thread implies....
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?
