Saad's set shot
Two thing impressed me about saad's set shots at goal
First was his slow delibrate approach to the kick , slighty different style but reminded me of the way plugger used to walk in .
second was his booming kick , that free kick he got in the 3rd was right on the 50 , he went back kicked the ball from about 55 metres out , but unfortunately hit the post 2/3 of the way up . so without this the ball would have travelled at least 60 metres , not bad for a little tacker .

That long deliberate walk is going to become famous.
Kids will be imitating it everywhere.

No disrespect to the guy, but he looks hilarious. I couldn't stop p!ssing myself..

Re: Saad's set shot
I love it and think its a terrific part of his game and application...
He better not dare change it...
I was shocked at the length of that set shot... And the best part was his confidence to go back and shoot... He knew he had the distance in him easily, and this could become a real weapon...
Great to see...

I don't give a monkeys whether he kicks it backwards with his shorts over his head..... two flags raised is no laughing matter..... I suggest your incontinence has other causes.SaintPav wrote:No disrespect to the guy, but he looks hilarious. I couldn't stop p!ssing myself..

Re: Saad's set shot
That is the way to take a set shot. Get the ball moving in the direction of the goal with a long, straight, deliberate run-up.
Exaclty the way Plugger used to take his set shots. It's a run-up that gives you confidence. I cannot believe how bad Roo's goal-kicking technique is. Goalkicking 101: Take a medium-long run-up, not a short one, keep your head over the ball and keep your balldrop low. Saad's showing 'em how its done.

"Too big, too strong, too whatever."

I thought I was going a bit nuts for thinking it but yes, Saad's run up reminds me of Pluggers. Glad I'm not the only one who thinks so. Another reason to love him.
