Milne its Time
Great contribution to the club BUT we will never be a contender with Milne getting a game time for Scott to make the hard one and play Saad all year
SKFC has now been confirmed as the AFLs BITCH

Re: Milne its Time
Seriously. Another rubbish game against a good side when we need him. Milne lost us the game v Freo and now is killing us in this one. Fine if you take players on but if you get caught u need to make a handball to your teammate. He is so hungry he prefers to handball at someones feet in case he can get it back. Time to hang em up.1eyedNever wrote:Great contribution to the club BUT we will never be a contender with Milne getting a game time for Scott to make the hard one and play Saad all year
Re: Milne its Time
What's really disappointed me about Mine this year is his defensive efforts (or lack of). It's never been his strong suit however this year it's been non-existent. He's looked extremely selfish this season. I would prefer him to kick less goals and have more tackles / pressure acts in our forward 50.

Absurdity…saintkid wrote:Gram is a complete dud and Montagna is needs to take a hard look at himself as he is way overrated.
Both in our best 10-12 tonight.
Gram has basically taken cripps spot so increased that position by 20 kicks… Montagna was far from our worst.

Re: Milne its Time
Gram was very good tonight. Planned a lot of his kicks and didn't just long bomb it.
Milne was not. Milne looks like he has lost some passion or energy for the game.
Dal Santo had an absolute shocker tonight. Lewis destroyed him in a tag.

Re: Milne its Time
I do think Milne needs to make way -its time.
He's lost a yard, his tricks are known, he's one dimensional and goes missing in BIG games. Say what you want but Malthouse's and Thomas's point have merit.
He's been great, got the most from himself for sure but now we need to become something different in attack.

milne just needs a rest. let him play a couple of games in the vfl. give saad his spot. if he cant rebuild his form ala peake then i'm affraid its curtains.
blake did well tonight. gram who i absolutely detest did well, bar a couple of spray and pray kicks.
polo needs a spell ala milne, peake, ray.

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Grams hospital handballs continue to amaze me.
Good on the Blake had a real crack at it

Re: Milne its Time
11 goals in 6 games, and you want him dropped? Really?
And where is our next 2 goal a game player going to come from exactly?
I'm all for giving the next generation of players a game; Saad, Milera, etc. But they play at the expense of those not giving anything. And a 40-50 goal a year player is not one of those that should be making way.
The key is to transition the new players in so that they are playing alongside our A-graders. Not by replacing the A-graders. Unbelievable.

You think of the goals battye but the pressure to apply on opponents isn't there.

Re: Milne its Time
Milne has lost a little bit of zing this season and although he will slot a couple here and there, I think that forward pocket spot should be up for grabs, and right now I would slot Saad in there regardless.

Not even about him.... But still the scapegoat cops it....
He was in the best 6 tonight...... And for some reason he was piss weak.... not sure he even made a mistake...
Milney was poor, Hawthorn had a good strategy for him...

Yeah he is playing like he thinks this will be his last year! Don't forget the rubbish during the week he & Monty had to put with again. That must be emotionally draining !

Re: Milne its Time
Milne needs a couple of weeks away from football all together. The stress of recent developments far too great!!!
Re: Milne its Time
up to three-quarter time montagna had nine possessions. he almost doubled that in the last, but in the first three quarters he was really quiet. certainly not in our best 10 or 12.dragit wrote:Absurdity…

Re: Milne its Time
You need goals to win games of football. Milne's ~2 goals a week is more valuable than (for example) McQualter's ~0.5 goals a week but with twice as many tackles.noob wrote:You think of the goals battye but the pressure to apply on opponents isn't there.

Agreed, Saad and Milera should be in the side all year with Milney to come in when injuries hit.1eyedNever wrote:Great contribution to the club BUT we will never be a contender with Milne getting a game time for Scott to make the hard one and play Saad all year
