plenty of spectators in the team tonight who should have been subbed before wilkes...
Anyway...how good was Polo when he came on...sub of the year...

Re: Wilkes
Watters subbbed him so its easier to drop him next week so he can get Kosi back in side.. Cant drop bloke if he kicks 5 or more goals!!

9 possessions after he came on?
Not too shabby.
Wish I'd got 9 possies in a game at the top level, especially when coming on so late...

That must have been the quickest amputation, and rehab learning how to use a prosthetic leg I've ever seenbobmurray wrote:He came back on.....after they removed his leg....Ralphy wrote:Wont be blake has done his knee, poor bloke, probably if its ACL career over.
Look, I wasn't happy with the decision, but Polo didn't play bad when he came on.
Would have liked to have seen say Cripps come off, and play Wilkes and Milne alone in the forward line.
Wilkes providing a focal point, and contest when the ball hits the deck, with Milne mopping up the crumbs and feeding off Wilkes.

Was the perfect move in the context of the match.
Should be happy we have a coach who can make moves according to the tone of where things are at, it was the game sealer for mine.
Polo was PERFECT for that last quarter, just perfect.
It was never going to be about leading forwards, it was going to be about in close contested footy, surely you get that?

Is it april fools? Game sealer?
Of course Polo needed to be subbed on in those conditions, but for the man who right then and there was having an absolute profound impact on the game, and smack bang in the middle of a purple patch!? Please! It was a disgraceful decision and Wilkes is owed an apology

Re: Wilkes
Coming off Twitter.
Scott watters said decision to sub Wilkes was made prior to mark and goal. They tried to reverse it but was too late as paperwork lodged With interchange stewards and hence couldn't change it.

So he lied at 3/4 time about the hammy tweak,or did he lie about the paper lodgement? Someone worked under the 'Liar' for to long I think....stkildathunda wrote:Coming off Twitter.

Re: Wilkes
I give up.
I don't reckon hardly any of you watched that last quarter, and once the emotion that BT and Richo heightened in a lot of you eases off a little....you have to watch it again, and watch the last quarter fold out about as good as it could of.
Nobody will change my mind that there was a determination in the box to enter that last quarter with most of the effort in locking down the footy and preventing them scoring.
And they didn't!!!!
I'm glad they went with taking off a tall.
I'm going to talk about other parts of the game.

yes perhaps best if you focus on the "other"parts of the game that dont perhaps call into question our club cause clearly in your mind ALL their decisions are the right ones.......SainterK wrote:I give up.

Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.
Re: Wilkes
The truth lies somewhere between the two extreme. Wilkes only had 4 touches all game, but did look dangerous and snagged three. Perhaps he wasn't going to be able to run it out, perhaps it was just an error. Ultimately it all worked out OK, because we won by three goals (Wilkes' tally) and kept Melbourne scoreless in the final term
STRENGTH THROUGH LOYALTY.
