Geez this looks familiar
The strangling type of footy. Slowly restricting the flow of scoring until you can't score anymore, then followed by perceived pressure, fumbles. Heading to boundary, going backwards, then barely getting the ball forward.
Lyon wins.
Lyon wins.
Gehrig emerged from scans yesterday saying he was "as sweet as a bun"

Its a great gameplan. One that is enjoyable when winning.

Maybe he left because he didn't like our away jumper.barks4eva wrote:clarky449 wrote:Its a great gameplan. One that is enjoyable when winning.

Or because the club wouldn't move back to the Junction Oval.

Re: Geez this looks familiar
you guys are kidding yourself if the suggestion is being made that RL outcoached us... boy has that myth grown legs
they won by what 3 goals including:
a dubious 50m penalty they got in the 2nd 1/4? (not the kosi one)
by th same standard Goddard not getting a 50m in the 3rd which was as there as the above one
Riewoldt having his head knocked off in a marking contest
Milne shanking a vital goal
Dempster taking a mark and unnecessarily handballing it to some 1m away from him with an opponent
Milera runnig into a near open goal and stuffing up the bounce
Cripps missing a goal from 10m out directly in front
Kosi handballing a set shot that didn't make the distance
Milne kicking the ball to Terry and it going a meter over his head
The difference between the team is that Freo took their chances and we stuffed a lot of ours up

Couldn't have said it better. Reckon Lyon would be secretly counting his blessings. Contested possessions, tackles and clearances all in our favour. A little bit more composure from our guys and Watters would be hailed the hero.skeptic wrote:you guys are kidding yourself if the suggestion is being made that RL outcoached us... boy has that myth grown legs

Re: Geez this looks familiar
Freo had the momentum with a 2 goal lead at 3 quarter time. The game was still in the balance and we could reload at the break. With the Sainters crowd cheering them on our boys attitude, hunger, pressure and teamwork got us in front in that last quarter...we had the momentum...we had control of the game and we choked, similarly to how Hawks choked against the Cats on Easter Monday. Sure, Freo took their chances and they have some very talented and very speedy players but in the end our sh1thouse decision making meant that we gave them a sniff...sh1thouse umpiring decisions turned the tide and gave them the momentum and the win
