Grant Thomas has stated:

"Unless Fremantle produce something meaningful, he will be going into the pre-season draft or to another club," Thomas said. "He's indicated he wants to leave and we've had enough of all that. We don't owe Heath Black anything at this point in time. If anything, he owes St Kilda."

Nice trip down memory lane but hardly relevant now.

I see Black is playing with his half brother Dean Kelly. Two good Mazenod boys.

Have to love GT and his words.

GT was right. From memory we gave up a bit for Black and then he buggered off after two years for not much. We really missed his superb footskills though off the back flank slash wings.

Sorry for the double post but did not get your quote Sensational

I was reliably informed he was going around again. He was very good this year and enjoyed the gig and said he wanted to do another year. You maybe right but we will see!!

Remember he was always angry and acting tough. When someone actually took him on, I think it was Ryan Hargrave from the Dogs, he was all Huff and no Puff. Hargrave put him on his arse at the dome. It was actually a very nice punch.

I think he had some "female" issues when he was at Freo the first time.
One of the reasons he headed back East.

Time to cut him some slack...

Post: # 1173280Post WinnersOnly »

The guy has come out and let everyone know he was and is suffering Bipolar disorder during his playing days. I think he has a bloody good reason for his past eratic behaviours so it is time to cut him some slack.

I'm sure he now understands his past wrongs which he cant change - now he is diagnosed and medicated is the time to judge him on the real person he can be!

Gees do you have any idea what BiPolar is?

It is as serious mental illness - which attributes to a lot of people ending up inside. He has done well to maintain any sort of a professional sporting life !

im sure hes done some silly things.
but mental illness is real and not an "excuse". as winners only says most people end up dead or inside. hes done well to partially overcome it and play afl. must have had serious talent.

I really rated Heath B;ack as a player. Good speed, great skills, great left foot kick. A goalkicking wingman. We could use a Heath Black in our squad now.

Shame his mental illness got in the way and led to him being misunderstood.

inaccuracies from some either distorted or short memories....Black was serviceable nothing more nothing less....but lots of players are better in retirement, back in the good old days

He was very much an outside wingman....and his toughness was never really at the contest and just a bit of sniping...

He never finished in the B&F top ten once (8th) which makes him as successful as Cain Ackland....his stats read average....

As a person, I was informed he was pretty much a d**khead...

My ex had BP. It was a real hoot. If someone was was to ask me weather they should go out with someone with a mental illness, my advice would be don't. Sounds hard, but it's not worth it.
