An appointment must be very close now, so the number of people who must be "in the know" is increasing. Leaks inevitably occur.
But ............... it is not "official?"
Looking at the short list, I will be happy with whoever is selected. It will be interesting to see whether a senior mentor is appointed by the Club. If so, you would think that the new coach will have a lot to say about who it is (Laidley mentioned on "hot" new posts). It would be unfair to both to simply "throw" two people together.

I think their credibility is as strong as their spelling...the next article has a "whole" in the swans list because of injury.
They have a fairly good chance of being right, one in three in fact.
Richardson has been over looked a couple of times, he may have finally got on to what they want to hear.... "yeah great list flag in 2 years max, development while playing all the stars, ability to turn the powerpoint presentation on.

Just had a mate text me who usually has reasonable info ... reckons Richardson is a done deal and the other candidates have been told tonight. Will be announced tomorrow.
Take it with a grain of salt, but this appears to be gaining legs.
Interesting highlights of his bio:
- Played 114 games with Collingwood from 1987-1996 (coached by Leigh Matthews)
- Famously trained with a broken collarbone in two training sessions in the lead-up to the 1990 GF to try and get a spot in the side but missed out
- Coached East Burwood to premierships in the EFL in 1999 and 2000
- Coached Coburg in the VFL 2001-2002
- Head of development at the Bulldogs from 2003-2005 (responsible for development of Giansiracusa, Gilbee, Murphy, Boyd, Cross, Lake, Hargrave)
- Head of the 'football academy' (aka development) at Collingwood 2006-2008 (development of Thomas, Cloke, Shaw, Pendlebury, O'Brien)
- Assistant coach at Essendon 2009-10
- Senior Assistant and Director of Coaching at Carlton 2011
Every club he has worked at (apart from the Bombers maybe ...) have improved enormously whilst he has been there.
He has coached in his own right, been at a number of clubs and worked with some great people.
Would have been coaching the Bombers this year if Hird had stayed in the consulting business ...

Alan Richardson will be St kilda's next coach three year deal
Deal announced soon
And please stop sending your prophecies to a mutual text messenger...it's driving me nuts.
I remember playing against him in 97-98 period when he was a player at east burwood...not yet coach...he was a well put together intelligent midfielder/half back who had some good tussles with dean grieg.....
They were a strong club at that time along with Vermont and Donvale....Richardson took over as coach after that and they became even more dominant
