I just called up & spoke with Cam Mooney:

Here's somethings he said" our window is well and truly shut"

And we have have to get rid of a top end (or 2) player this week to reduce salary relief. He said it will happen for sure.

He went on to say that he is astounding that we have not picked a coach coming into trade week.

Geelong did not have a coach in place at trade time last year

i heard that!!! the bloke is spreading blatant mistruths. someone needs to call up and call him out on it.

saints are over the salary cap: wrong. its reported they are set to exceed the salary cap for 2012 and have a month to correct the issue

saints are actively looking to trade goddard out: wrong. pelchen has stated he is off the table

saints will trade 1 or more of their top 6 to ease the salary cap: wrong. pelchen has stated the top 6 are off the table.

the reality is we'll trade the older players in the age group of 26-31 who are not in the top echelon of our senior list. i suspect cam mooneys motive to create as much friction as possible between st kilda and goddard so that GWS can make a player for him at the end of 2012. isnt he linked to a GWS coaching role?

Mooney was one of those players who looked competent in an excellent team, but would have struggled to hold his place is lesser teams. The old "Saints window is shut" dribble has been going on in the media every year since we lost the prelim in 2004. I think the window is always open.
