Re the new coach

It will have to be someone with good public profile at senior level, as the club needs to bolster membership and become attractive to potential sponsors, two problem areas. For that reason I dont think we will see any up-and-coming former assistant coaches, it will probably be a senior coach, either AFL or VFL.

Heard a big rumour Mark Williams is on the radar.

Nothing major - just had a 3 messages from separate friends, one who lives in Sth Aust, all mentioning him by name.

Interesting - conjecture rather than fact, but that's what I got.

Especially as he is living in Sydney.

3AW were talking about Williams as the replacement too....

Surely not? aren't they a melbourne radio station - and he lives in Sydney?

What would they know...

They don't know anything.

They are doing what we have all been doing, that is reviewing previous decisions by the club and trying to speculate on what this might mean for future decisions.

When the club sacked Thomas the club made it very clear that they were interested in speaking with Mark Williams if he was to make himself available for the job. As Williams was contracted at Port, this never eventuated.

So 5 years later, AW have added 2 & 2 together and come up with 65.

There will be a lot more of this kind of speculation until we actually announce our new coach, which you would think is a few weeks away at the very least.

Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friends.
