Why the login?

I notice now that you have to login in to view SS.

Why the change?

I think it's a good move BTW.

Unfortunately this won't keep the trolls out.
We would need to enter membership number to do that!

Like I said I think it's a great move.

I wonder how the Journo's will view this move. They won't be able to silently scour the place for material.

We have no way of policing this.

The club aren't going to give us a list of details with membership numbers.

We aren't associated with the club, so membership has nothing to do with us.

what about maybe a licence or passport or maybe medicare or maybe 100 points of ID. Either that or a DNA sample because there is a lot of IP on this site that should be protected.

I like it.

One question, at present there are 33 guests. How is that possible?

Most likely still be counting the hits to the homepage over a certain amount of time.

Don't think the count is up to the second every time you refresh.

Would be very interesting to see who fell off the radar when their membership hand required playing... 8-)

High level security now operates in many instances throughout the world with things such as Retina Scans and Fingerprint Recognition.

May I suggest that something similar here, perhaps involving one's teeth, may help solve the problem

Totally disagree with suggestions of making this a members only site. You would alienate any people not financially fortunate enough to be members for a start.

This is an unofficial fan site. And should be just that.

Unless you start charging people to be a member to this site, that's another issue.

One way to stop or reduce trolls is to ask for a genuine IP address when signing up. Don't accept the generic hotmail, gmail and the like email addresses. Trolls will be less inclined to use a traceable email address.

I don't think people were serious to suggest this.

As many here know, I used to be a member but gave my mermbership to my father this year (so as to keep social club membership due to a major eff-up by the club last year that forfeited his) because I can no longer afford luxuries like memberships now I have another mouth to feed.

But I still think people that aren't paid members should have their say - just because they are not funding the club, doen't mean they are not die hard supporters. you only need to watch me at the footy (and believe me, some of you have) to see how muhc I love the Saints.

Think you'll find they'll already have your IP address when you register, all they need to do is IP block the trolls.....
