Agree. But it seems ridiculous that your own runner can cost you the ball... Seriously what a ridiculous rule. Your own players are allowed to run across the mark but not your own runnerthejiggingsaint wrote:Is it just me who is just about cheesed off completely with that dill of a runner who cost Schneider the set shot? Oh also if Schneider didnt have a run up like Merv Hughes the runner wouldnt have ran across

Wasnt shifting the blame, sorry should have used :sarcasm: after the run up commentJunction Oval wrote:Don't shift the blame thunda. The Runners should know the rules!!
Earlier in the year, they cost us a few 50's, then it stopped.
Last night, it was not our main runner (former no. 1 culprit in this area).
But seriously its a ridiculous rule.
Not sure why but I was actually watching the runner from when he was about 30 metres away from the mark, expecting him to do what he did. As he came toward the play he hesitated, half stopped, then thought, stuff it I just need to get to the other side.
What I find amusing (for want of a better word), is that the umpire in control actually just said to the runner, please move away you are too close and that was that. It was the other umpire who overruled and reversed the kick - you'd think both umpires would know the rules...

The thing is he did have awareness as he hesitated, the problem is that he ignored his better judgement and ran through anyway. The millions that are spent through a football club, you'd think everyone out on the field would know the rules...PJ wrote:Complete brain fade - the guy has no awareness but he wasn't our problem last night.....players
