Saints $5.30
At Betfair, although only $4.60 at Sportsbet. Must be some time since one of the teams from the previous year's GF was at such long odds in the very next encounter. Perhaps a lot of Collingwood supporters think risking a dollar to win 20 cents is a good bet. Alas, my Golden Rule prevents me from taking some of the action.

I reckon the margin will tighten after selection.
We'll drop a couple of young guys like Winmar and Sipposs and put in Kosi and Clarke. Whereas the Pies won't rush back their missing Stars so the optimists will see us as a bit of a chance.
Personally I'd spend the money on a cellarable wine and mark it medium to long term offering.

Kosi HAS to come in as we have no other choice. Clarke doesn't and I don't reckon he will.

Assuming Kosi is right to come back in that is. You'd think based on the history of selection he'd be an automatic selection if he's fit. But he might not be fit so then what happens.Moods wrote:ClarkeCairnsman wrote:I reckon the margin will tighten after selection.

Do have trouble making decsions, Stevie???
"The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break in the game. Every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when we add up all those inches that's gonna make the f***in' difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying!'

The worst bit about seeing us win would emphasis the fact we win all the games that don't count, and lose the ones that do.
I've got a feeling we'll get up for the win.

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

He might be refering to 3 games specifically.plugger66 wrote:I reckon we have done a bit this year to say that aint correct.St. Luke wrote:The worst bit about seeing us win would emphasis the fact we win all the games that don't count, and lose the ones that do.

He might be referring to something irrelevant to the OP. What's new!Cairnsman wrote:..He might be refering to 3 games specifically.
Back on topic. Last week, I gave a "Big Hint" to those who might have a "spare" and I emphasise "spare" $10 (or so) cash to wager on their team. I hope you all cashed in. This week is the classic dilemma. There is no way that the Saints are $5.30, the real odds are more like $1.60 and $2.50, unless the bookie wants to make an outrageous profit.
To put it another way, let's say we are talking about a two horse race. One horse has only lost one of its last nine starts. The other horse started off OK, being beaten by a short half head, but became lame. Recently, it has recovered some form, albeit at some country courses. However, whenever these horses have met head to head in the last few years, the odds are in favor of the "non favourite".
So, anyone choosing to spend the lazy ten on the footy rather than Ozlotto(where you have no hope), might say, the Saints are a good bet.

Nope...Sometimes you can do your very best and still not be good enough.Milne wrote:Wrong attitude.
We can win any game we play, and we should be aiming to do so every time!
I think tomorrow might be one of those occasions. I am certain the boys will try their very best.
I hope Bakes has a great game and that the Tommy's do very well but by the mere fact that we giving two more players a chance to make their debut then we have an eye on 2012 rather than 2011...And there is nothing wrong with that. Throw the new kids into the cauldron in front of a big crowd and give them a taste! They will only learn from the experience.
