NAB Cup Round 1 - Guess the Team

Post: # 1039856Post St Chris »

Picking a NAB Cup team is a bit like break-dancing with your sister, it's hard to get right, and doesn't get you anywhere in the end, but lets have a crack anyway.....

B: Baker, Blake, Gwilt
HB: Gram, Fisher, Dempster
C: Montagna, Goddard, Winmar
HF: Cripps, Gilbert, Gamble
F: Milne, Walsh, Lynch
Foll: McEvoy, Polo, Armitage
Int: Archer, A. Smith, Heyne, Geary, McQualter, Peake, Ray, Crocker

Injured: Gardiner, Simpkin, Kosi, Schneider

Rested: Reiwoldt, Hayes, Dal Santo, Clarke, Jones, and the other youngsters.....

Suspended: Various

The glaring thing from picking this team, is the massive opportunity a couple of the "naughty boys" have missed.....which is unfortunate for both their careers, and the whole team.

I forgot Polo was in there. Maybe he planted the tablets so he could pinch a run. Just a theory.

In past years I got a bit excited about NAB. Now I'm not even sure if I'll watch such is its irrelevance.

Okay, so maybe I'll watch.

I just won't care.

Well I'll care a bit. That's only natural.

But it's only the young blokes.

They BETTER f****** SHOW SOMETHING !!!!!!!!!

I mean, you know, if they do, they do...the result won't matter though.

Much...

The answer is Bombers v Lions then Saints v Lions then Saints v Bombers.

Unless of course you're trying to start an Abbott & Costello routine

I thought Simpkin was well again? what injury

Lions alert- No Brown, Black or Power-
Kosi definitely out as stated last week.

Ch 7 chose us- each free to air was given a choice and Fox picked up the rest.

As Rookies can play- and I'm certain they can given the Hawks team
Eddy almost a certainty- would like to see the other young guys especially given it's a shortened game- although we can only have 3 extras. if we then get through then bring back and play just the senior list.

Not sure who will play but I would say only Cripps and Crocker will play from those drafted this year unless of course we count Eddy. Polo and Gamble will be certainties baring injury and then it will mainly be second third and fourth year players given a chance. Would just about say Essendon will get through with both us and the Lions struggling.

Is a 'baring injury' akin to that suffered by Roo and Dal?

I would just play all of our saints listed players that will be playing for sandy this year along with other players that are regularly in and then out of the senior team. There is no point risking anyone in these matches. I wouldn't play Goddard, Montagna, Milne, Gram, Fisher or McEvoy and Gilbert will not be playing anyway

When Harvey played his first game in 1988, I was a 12yo wearing short pants and struggling with my readin', writin' and 'rithmetic in grade eight. Now, I'm a father of three and a retired AFL player. And he's still going. Amazing! - Michael Voss

IM not sure many senior players will play but can anyone explain to the theory they shouldnt because they might get injured. They need at least 2-3 practice games and surely these, if the players are ready, are better than a game at Alice Springs.

last thing we want is an early injury to a gun
we got thru last year ok when roo went down but bugger that again
play the kids, the rookies, even the coaching staff.
im just interested in seeing some of the young recruits and players like gamble have a kick
looking forward to seeing cripps and hopefully Ivan gets a run too
