Saints should target Nathan Djerrkura
Nathan Djerrkura could provide the leg speed and added flair that we need to add to our team. He also looks like he will develop into a quality play that could rotate through our midfield.

From what I can gather, the saints have no room in their cap to target an 'big name' players which begs the question, who are we paying? For me our highest paid players would be...
Roo, BJ, Dal Santo, Lenny, Joey and mabe S.Fisher.
Who else would be on such big money that we are close to the cap?

I would prefer Sam JACOBS...
I think we need a quality ruckman (to replace Gardiner) and have concerns that McEvoy will make it - he just doesn't have any leap what so ever.
I know it has been reported that he want to home to Adelaide but really he sees 3 ruckman in front of him on the Blues list. I would go hard for Jacobs and offer our first round draft pick #24. If we dont have the salary cap room offer players on our current list eg Kosi, Clarke, Geary or Armitage.

Totally agree we should go for him. We need leg speed, he's got flare, has only played four games, so would be able to fit under salary cap, he's only 22 & according to this article, we'd only need to give up our 3rd round pick (57)!

I'd go after Blake from Geelong! Offer our first or second round pick and see if they'd chuck in Djerrkura aswell. Blake's only 25!WinnersOnly wrote:I think we need a quality ruckman (to replace Gardiner) and have concerns that McEvoy will make it - he just doesn't have any leap what so ever.

There's only one problem with Blake - he's no good!sax wrote:I'd go after Blake from Geelong! Offer our first or second round pick and see if they'd chuck in Djerrkura aswell. Anyway, in regards to the previous post Djerrkura could be worth a crack with the third pick. Leaving aside your late gems such as Fish & Gwilt, the liklihood of snagging a good un at pick 57 this year is pretty remote.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Definitely not Blake. No use for him on our list. Especially with the new interchange rule change. Keep developing Macca. Gardiner to go on for a extra year.
Definitely target Djerrkura if it can be done.

REAL speed and could eventually go midfield.....why wouldnt we be targeting this bloke???? as opposed to Trav Johsnon FFS!
Difference is Johnston has actualled played a meaningful amount of AFL games would cost if we got him very little, as opposed to Djerrka who the most we know about him is that he is quick, will cost more than Johnston and has no record to speak of.

Collingwood did well to grab Krakour with their first pick, he has afl experience, be on a small contract and would reasonably be expected to be a very good player, like Davis with a bit more quality and bulk.
Djerrkura is a guy who went pretty high in the draft but was over taken by a lot of other guys, I wonder if he is any good if that kept happening.
His dad is a senior politician and activist and he attended Scotch college on a scholarship for his footy. He had all the prep and hasn't come on. Not so much potential for mine.
I would be on to Cam Bruce who is reluctant to sign for one year at the dees, we could sign him for 2 lure him with a potential premiership and bolster our stocks with a gun.
Trav Johnston is a very good player at times and would be worth the risk if cheap.
We lost it in the mid field. We don't need speed as much as quick responses, the pies just move the ball quicker and cleaner, they seem to think quicker.
Manic ball use that ends in turn overs is a waste of time, Lenny, Dal santo and Goddard seem to have quick thinking rather than speed and it allows us to hold on to the ball.

I used to watch him play at school with Junior Rioli and he's a great player. Plenty of pace, reasonably good disposal, Geelong could do a lot worse than giving him more games. But his time is past there, could be an absolute goldmine if we could get him and get some games into him. Given that he has only played four or five games for them, he would probably cost very little.

I would rather go for Bruce than Travis Johnston. We already have a few players in the Travis mould - obviously, Dal Santo. Bruce has that creativity, but because of his extra height he can play in a multitude of positions.gringo wrote: I would be on to Cam Bruce who is reluctant to sign for one year at the dees, we could sign him for 2 lure him with a potential premiership and bolster our stocks with a gun.

But I would go for Djerrkura above both of them, because he is quicker plus he can add to the team now and in the future. Johnston and Bruce both have maximum 2 years left in them.

You know cam bruce would come in and be in our best 10 players every week. Djerrkura is still a little more of a Peake style gamble. Maybe short term but once GC are up and about in a couple of years and GWS are stealing anything worth while. We might as well go hard now and try to snag a Premiership.
