Hobart Saints??

Post: # 1003101Post TazzieSaintGirl83 »

After being not being able to find flights/acc to get to Melbourne to go to a live site and watch the game I was wondering if any Hobart/Tassie saints are getting together to watch the game???

cheapest flights i can see on webjet was 369 there leaving on the friday
and about 89 return on the 3rd at 7am

bit rude really
$370 bucks there

also best i can see on jetstar is 319 there on the 30th sept and leave either on the sunday 3rd for 79$, mon 4th for 99$, or tues for 69$

and on virgin you can leave on the wed for 279$ (cheapest) and return on the sunday for 95 or on the tues or wed (5th or 6th) for 69$

now if you can find cheap hotel rates for the 4 days or so :?

I could swing a monday return for a better priced flight but cant afford the acc to go along with, anything with a reasonable price is all booked out! :(

Don't say that too loud!!!

While on the subject, reminds me of something I read a while back...

Letter from Tasmanian mum to Tasmanian son

Dear Son,

I'm writing this letter slow because I know you can't read fast. We don't live where we did when you left home. Your dad read in the newspaper that most accidents happen within 20kms from your home, so we moved. I won't be able to send you the address because the last Tasmanian family that lived here took the house numbers when they moved so that they wouldn't have to change their address.

This place is really nice. It even has a washing machine. I'm not sure it works so well though: last week I put a load in and pulled the chain and haven't seen them since. The weather isn't bad here. It only rained twice last week; the first time for three days and the second time for four days.

About that coat you wanted me to send you, your Uncle Stanley said it would be too heavy to send in the mail with the buttons on, so we cut them off and put them in the pockets. John locked his keys in the car yesterday. We were really worried because it took him two hours to get me and your father out.

Your sister had a baby this morning; but I haven't found out what it is yet so I don't know if your an aunt or an uncle. The baby looks just like your brother...

Uncle Ted fell in a whiskey vat last week. Some men tried to pull him out but he fought them off playfully and drowned. We had him cremated and he burned for three days.

Three of your friends went off a bridge in a ute. Ralph was driving. He rolled down the window and swam to safety. Your other two friends were in the back. They drowned because they couldn't get the tailgate down.

There isn't much more news at this time. Nothing much has happened.

Love, Mum

P.S. I was going to send you some money but I had already sealed the envelope.

blimey i found way better than that
but you might have to either cab or train or tram it

have a look here and scroll down once its loaded
theres some there for 30 odd bucks a night, obviously nothing flash and im not sure how far they are out from melb cbd and if you have someone with you (itd be safer than walk about/tramming on your own)

I don't find webjet to be that good. They charge a fee if you book through them and when you go to the airlines sites, they aften have more available than of webjet.

Spirit of Tasmania seats are still available on the Friday night sailing for $174. You'd need to get yourself to Devonport but wouldn't need a hotel for Friday night.

Hi TSG

I'm out of town ATM and not sure that I'm going to be back by Saturday (nor in Melbourne, alas), but I understand that there will be some sort of a gathering at Shippies at Battery Point.

But I hope you can get up to the MCG for the game.

Cheers

MB
